ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Works under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor in the Engineering Division to install, repair, maintain, and operate electronic and electrical traffic signal control equipment and devices:  Troubleshoots, diagnoses and corrects signal system problems; sets control switches on computer and peripheral equipment to integrate and operate equipment; tests circuits and electric components to locate grounded wires, broken connections, or defective current control mechanisms, using electrical testing instruments; replaces defective parts using electrical tools; works from bucket and aerial platform trucks; operates essential equipment, machinery, and vehicles to construct signalized intersections; and prepares reports of daily work activities.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

          1. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned from time to time.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must be able to lift and carry objects in excess of 70 lbs.  Requires climbing, including 12 ft. ladders, onto the back of trucks, and atop stacked poles.  Requires balancing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.  Requires the ability to use basic hand tools and to grasp wires.  Must be able to program controls and change components.  Requires feeling of electrical circuits and wires for overheating.  Involves standing for extended periods of time and walking sometimes over uneven surfaces.  Must be able to communicate problems and conditions to co-workers, including during high volumes of traffic noise.  Must operate a two-way radio to communicate with co-workers and supervisor.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:  Majority of work is performed outdoors.  Some shop work is required.  Must work in inclement weather.  Must work from bucket and aerial platform trucks.  Exposed to noise and traffic.  May be exposed to engine fumes and electrical shock.  Requires the use and wear of protective gear.  May be subject to shift work, standby and call out duty.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the supervision of an Environmental Engineer and is responsible for performing basic engineering review and design responsibilities. Conducts inspections to maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulation by monitoring the discharge into the sewer system by industrial users, waste haulers and food establishments. Collects and inputs basic data into the computer system in order to maintain records and retrieve data to compile engineering design reports. JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Deliver counseling and group services to women with alcohol, drugs, or co-occurring disorders in a structured treatment program (ASAM Level III.5 & III.3).
• Provide case management to special needs and homeless population.
• Be responsible for overseeing the needs of the facility as far as housekeeping, food service, maintenance needs.
• Monitor clients and assist in day to day operations of the house.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• College degree in a social science field.
• LADAC in the state of Tennessee, or other licensing (LAPSW, LCSW, LMSW,etc.).
• Experience working with co-occurring population.
• Prefer experience in a residential setting.
• A working knowledge of the 12 Steps.  Prefer a minimum of 5 years of personal experience with a minimum of 3 years continuous sobriety. Experience may substitute for some education.
• Must have excellent organizational, verbal, written and computer skills.  Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Internet use.
• Motivated to carry out directives with minimum supervision.
• Knowledge of community resources and case management experience.
• Understand and practice various therapeutic approaches to counseling and case management.
• A positive, professional demeanor and maturity; the ability to deal with clients, the public and co-workers; exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
• Submit a criminal background check, and must not currently be under supervision of the courts.

Position Title:  Child Therapist

Reports to:  Dr. Katherine Lawson, Executive Director

Position Summary:  Therapist

Part-time master’s level therapist to provide counseling to children and youth exposed to violence related to domestic crime, homicide and other violent crime.  Primary responsibilities to include assessing trauma-related needs, and co-facilitation of youth homicide survivors support group.  Services will be provided through Victims to Victory in coordination with the Defending Childhood Initiative Grant.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Assesses trauma-related needs of children and families affected by homicide or other violent crime.

Develops individualized client service plans in coordination with pertinent staff.

Visits and conducts client follow through at agency or off site.

Provides therapeutic counseling and other supportive interventions to clients.

Interfaces with schools and community agencies to help secure support services, as needed.

Acts as liaison to refer and connect children and families clients to appropriate systems of resource.

Co-facilitates youth support group for homicide survivors.

Completes case documentation and collects outcome feedback as required by granting agency.

Attends training as needed.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in social work or other mental health related field

Five years therapeutic experience with children/adolescents

Satisfactory criminal background and references check.

Computer Literacy -WindowsXP,MSWord, etc.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Experience in crisis intervention and therapeutic counseling with children and families.

Trauma-focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.

Case management.

Trauma and grief.

Group processes.

Knowledge of community resource networks and service providers.
