Position: Registered Dietitian

Part-time, 20 hours/week

Position summary

The MIFA Meals on Wheels registered dietician (RD) will be responsible for nutritional planning and monitoring of all nutrition services, including education. The RD will serve as nutritional liaison between the nutrition service contractor and Meals on Wheels in the production of nearly 2,000 meals daily.

Qualifications

1.      Registered/licensed dietitian in the state of Tennessee

2.      Six months’ experience in the field of nutrition/food science preferred

3.      People skills and good verbal and written communication skills

4.      Ability to interact respectfully with people of diverse ages, races, and household compositions

5.      Clinical, administrative, and appropriate record-keeping skills

6.      Proficient with communications systems (computers, email, netbooks, telephone software, scanners, etc.), Microsoft Office, and various database systems

7.      Ability to drive and to conduct home nutritional counseling sessions for clients

8.      Ability to work independently and with limited supervision

9.      Ability to meet all applicable state, local, and federal background screening requirements

Essential functions and responsibilities

1.      Serve as the nutritional and technical liaison between the food service vendor and Meals on Wheels by overseeing and ensuring that meals are nutritious and appetizing and meet regulatory requirements

2.      Oversee food quality and handling

3.      Plan, coordinate, and present nutritional education material in order to conduct nutritional assessments

Position:  Data Processing Specialist I

Full-time; starting rate $13/ hour

Posting date: November 8, 2011

Closing date: November 14, 2011

Position summary

Responsible for collecting, organizing, and entering billing-related data for Title III OAA (Older Americans Act), Options, TennCare CHOICES, Family Caregiver, MIFA, and other government and grant programs. Troubleshoot and track required billing items and discrepancies for timely resolutions.

Qualifications

High school diploma required

Two years’ data entry or clerical office-related experience required

Two years’ experience entering and troubleshooting high volumes of billing or inventory data preferred

Experience utilizing various billing and inventory software preferred

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required

Ten-key experience preferred

Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain an organized work environment

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Essential functions and responsibilities

Enter, verify, and secure appropriate Meals on Wheels documentation to accurately process billing

Coordinate, troubleshoot, and track the retrieval of billing source documents (route sheets indicating meals served, etc.) to appropriately enter and reconcile the billing process

Collect daily activity documents from Meals on Wheels department and maintain electronic and hard copy files
