“Getting Ahead Classes” by Oasis of Hope @ Bickford CC

Oasis of Hope is offering a “Getting Ahead in A Just Getting by World” course.

These classes derived from the Bridges out of Poverty materials, are designed to help participants examine the effects of poverty on their lives and in their community.

It also gives information on how to use the resources you currently have to go the next level in your life.

Topics include:

– How to build economic stability for you & your family
– How to set personal goals and successfully achieve them
– How to make small positive changes that will have a big impact.

PT Job at Girl Scouts Office in Memphis

Girl Scouts Heart of the South is seeking a part-time Registrar to join its team in the Memphis Office.  The Registrar plans and performs all functions to complete GSUSA’s registration process by effectively using membership procedures and council systems.

Brief Summary:

  • Maintains GSUSA registration inclusive of data entry, troop number distribution and transmittals of membership numbers to GSUSA. 
  • Works closely with program department and outdoor GSLE during special events and summer camp and generates routine reports requested by staff.
  • Provides accurate, pleasant, and timely customer service regarding membership and event registrations to membership, volunteers, and staff.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or a GED. A college degree is preferred. At least one year of proven customer service experience is required along with a proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and Access).  The candidate should be detail oriented, be able to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal or no supervision. Candidates should be available to work a flexible schedule, which may include mandatory meetings on weekends. A valid driver’s license, use of one’s own vehicle for travel and a good driving record is also required.  Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement.
