At this seminar your teen girls will learn the following:

  • Sex/relationships      · Friends & Peer Pressure · Who are your friends?
  • Dress · Hygiene      · Behavior- How should I conduct myself as a female?
  • Music-What      are you listening to? ·  Education,      jobs, interviewing
  • God &      you · What are you going to do?

These classes are essential for your teens, usually this power packed training seminar is utilized in a 6 weeks training program, but Life Choice Ministry for Girls will conduct this series in two days.

Refreshments will be provided for lunch, certificate of completion, and giveaways.

Attending three consecutive Building Your Futures’ programs qualifies your youth for a Grand Prize drawing.

Job Description

Program Coordinator                     Position: FT

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating operational facets of the DeNeuville Learning Center’s (DLC) services to women and children to ensure that the mission of DLC is accomplished.

Responsible to: Executive Director

Duties:

  • Registers  women for the services they request, confers with instructors, prepares      class schedules, update them as necessary throughout the year

 

  • Develops and facilitate training for instructors, staff and volunteers

 

  • Maintains databases

 

  • Develops  and implement classes for the community in general
  • Notes maintenance needs and communicates with Executive director
  • Prepares or assists in preparation of proposal for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors, assist in meeting with individuals to seek  donations, and assist with program fundraising events
  • Confers with  staff, volunteers, students and others to provide problem solving      assistance, answers to questions relate to daily activities and refers to      appropriate person when unable to respond.
  • Coordinates activities of the program with inter-related activities and events, staff      and volunteers to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
  • Prepares   periodic reports on program activities, progress, status or other special  reports as requested by the Executive Director
  • Assist with  periodic program evaluations and recommends appropriate actions
  • Recruits program  participants and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or   marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures or presentations at meetings.
  • Develops and   writes communications and promotional literature for distribution such as      newsletters, brochures or flyers; coordinates process from writing through printing and distribution.
  • Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings or conferences; coordinates logistics,      scheduling and participant communications.
  • Interacts and maintains liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community      agencies in facilitating program objectives.
  • Works side by side with Executive Director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of   Adult Education
  • Computer/software   skills
  • Skill in  organizing work of self and others.
  • Skill  in both verbal and written communication.

 

  • Interpersonal   skills and ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds effectively

 

This position requires a person with energy, creativity, a person dedicated to helping women develop the skills they need to lead a successful life and a person interested in promoting the growth and well-being of others and of the community and a person who is willing to embrace and model the values of DeNevuille Learning Center/House of the Good Shepherd of Memphis.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Hours:                         8:00a.m. – 5:30p.m. Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – noon Friday

Job Summary:  Responsible for various functions in support of finance and human resources as well as clerical assistance for the CFO.  Duties include processing payroll, handling insurance and other benefits, maintaining census, preparing various human resources reports and documents, preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations, processing deposits and accounts payable, preparing finance and budget reports, maintaining all finance and human resources files.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Verify and code and deposit log sheets, enter into Quickbooks; file deposit checks, copies, log sheets and reports, verify deposit entries to bank statement.
  • Open and date stamp vendor invoices, code and enter into Quickbooks, run batch reports, match checks, invoices, payment stubs and payment records, mail checks, prepare file labels.
  • Edit and print timecards, calculate timecards, enter payroll data, check and confirm all payroll forms, update leave balances, assist in payroll submission.
  • Sort employment applications, maintain application files, prepare applicant follow-up letters.
  • Prepare new hire packets, maintain employee files, submit benefit enrollment/change forms, verify benefit billings, prepare COBRA letters, prepare/distribute insurance memo/questionnaire.
  • Assist with monthly journal entry preparation, reconciliations, allocations, reports and budget process.
  • Responsible for general office equipment including copiers, faxes and postage meter; purchase office supplies and maintain office inventory.
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with donors, volunteers, agency representatives, visitors, management, staff and board of directors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Two years of college with courses in business/accounting plus 2-4 years general accounting experience.  Associates or Bachelors in accounting preferred.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word and intermediate to advanced Excel and accounting software.  Quickbooks experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of good record keeping procedures and ability to maintain accurate records and files.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute and use 10-key by touch.
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor with all internal and external contacts.
  • Motivated self-starter who can anticipate needs and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under pressure-sensitive situations.
