Join Mayor A C Wharton, Jr. and dads from across our city for a fun-filled day dedicated to engaging and empowering fathers. 

The day will be filled with seminars, exhibits and a luncheon celebrating outstanding dads and father figures in our community.

Immediate Openings–Elementary Instructors

STAR Academy College Preparatory Charter School is currently seeking highly qualified, classroom teachers who possess a Tennessee Teaching License in Elementary Education.  Qualified applicants must have a passion for urban education, have high academic and social expectations for students, and enjoy collaborating with a team in an innovative environment.  Experience with preparing students for high levels of performance on state mandated assessments is a “plus.” Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter by Friday, June 22, 2012 to Angela Holloway, school principal.

Immediate Opening—Title I/NCLB Instructional Facilitator

STAR Academy College Preparatory Charter School is currently seeking a motivated educational leader to facilitate its school-wide Title I/NCLB program.  Qualified applicants must have a passion for urban education, have high academic and social expectations for teachers and students, have experience with Title I/NCLB budgets and the 10 Title I program components.  Applicants should also have in-depth knowledge of data analysis, response to intervention, and closing achievement gaps. Experience with facilitating Professional Learning Communities to maximize student achievement and preparing students for high levels of performance on state mandated tests is a “plus.” Additionally, a current teaching and administrative license are required.
