JOB SUMMARY  The clerical specialist will be responsible for clerical support for staff and program participants.  Essential duties include, but are not limited to, computer operations, photocopying, filing, mailing correspondence, data entry, maintaining supplies in orderly manner, and other duties as assigned by the management staff.  Duties are performed in an office environment.    The clerk will work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:          High School Diploma or GED

Experience:        At least one year working in an office environment as a clerical specialist; demonstrated experience working with youth is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office 10 (Word, Excel), windows-based computer software applications and the ability to master other software programs as appropriate.
  • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 35 correct words per minute.
  • Effective oral communication skills.  Clear speaking voice in the English language.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff and customers.
  • Ability to work with youth.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk/bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to drive (access to operable automobile with minimum state-mandated insurance).

Job Title: Computer Operations Specialist (Level I)

Duties:    Monitor, operate, control and set controls on various computer application schedules, multi-programmed and multi-processing computer and peripheral equipment; process/load input and output data; control/secure magnetic tapes; resolve technical/operational problems for internal and external customers; prepare/maintain data files and various records and reports; and maintain materials and supplies.

Associate degree in Computer Operations, Business Data Processing or Computer Science Technology or Associate degree with at least 12 hours college accredited programming/computer courses.  Must be able to operate, monitor and control electronic data processing equipment.  Must be able to lift boxes of cards, paper, forms, etc. and trays of cards 20 to 50 pounds.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.  

Works majority of time in the computer room; occasionally required to work on loading dock and driving in traffic.  Subject to normal hazards associated in computer equipment operations, medium lifting, climbing ramps/pushing carts while transporting computer forms, sitting/standing for long periods of time, stooping and bending, and eye fatigue.  Shift work required.

 Title:  Full Charge Bookkeeper

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Mid-South Spay and Neuter Services operates a non-profit spay and neuter clinic to meet the mission of reducing animal overpopulation. The bookkeeper will be responsible for various functions in support of finance and human resources as well as clerical assistance for the Executive Director. Duties include processing payroll, preparing various human resources reports and documents, preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations, processing deposits and accounts payable, working with the Executive Director to prepare finance and budget reports and maintaining all finance and human resources files.
– Verify and code deposit log sheets, enter into Quickbooks; file deposit checks, copies, log sheets and reports.
-Open and date stamp vendor invoices, code and enter into Quickbooks, run batch reports, match checks, invoices, payment stubs and payment records, mail checks, prepare file labels.
-Edit, print, and calculate timecards, enter payroll data, check and confirm all payroll forms, update leave balances, submit payroll.
-Prepare new hire packets and maintain employee files
-Assist with monthly journal entry preparation, reconciliations, allocations, reports and budget process.
-Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with volunteers, agency representatives, visitors, staff and board of directors.
-Assist in with donor database management.
-Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Two years of college with courses in business/accounting plus 5 years general accounting experience. Associates or Bachelors in accounting preferred.
-Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
-Quickbooks experience preferred.
-Knowledge of good record keeping procedures and ability to maintain accurate records and files.
-Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
-Organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
-Professional and pleasant demeanor with all internal and external contacts.
-Motivated self-starter who can anticipate needs and handle multiple tasks.
-Donor software experience a plus.

Number of hours per week: 20-25

EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS

PAS Program Job Description

Program Manager

 

Job Summary: The Program Manager will provide supervision, aggressive outreach for program growth and is responsible for the administration of the MCIL PAS Program.  This position will report to the Executive Director.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide program outreach for expansion of program through media, public or individual presentations and aggressive personal outreach
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with all consumer managers for program retention
  • Verify that all consumers are receiving services daily or as scheduled
  • Provide consumer manager training to assist new PAS consumers to understand their rights and responsibilities in managing their services
  • Create, maintain and provide new DSP staff orientation in conjunction with the consumer they will serve
  • Work with Independent Living Specialists, Direct Support Professionals, Consumer Managers, MCOs, MCIL Administrators and PAS Team to ensure a cohesive and collaborative provision of services
  • Maintain necessary documentation and accurate records
  • Submit all required reports on time including but not limited to: immediate submission of incidents reports, missed visits, time reports, reimbursement requests and or billing reports
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal relationships and ability to build rapport with consumers and staff
  • Observe, discuss and report any safety issues within the consumer’s home environment
  • Must be willing to follow the consumer directed philosophy and management
  • Verify that MCIL DSP staff is providing quality services, follow through on incidents and complaints and work promptly to resolve all issues
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Provide, attend and verify attendance of DSP staff for ongoing mandatory trainings
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary to achieve the mission of MCIL 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be age 18 or over.
  • Be an RN, or have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a Social Service field
  • Be mature as exhibited in timeliness and acting in a responsible manner at all times.
  • Be able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Be experienced with and/or have a positive attitude for and about older persons and persons with disabilities.
  • Be knowledgeable of and sensitive to different cultural backgrounds.
  • Be able to exhibit moderate computer skills
  • Have knowledge or skills for the specific in-home services provided by this program
  • Have an annual influenza (flu) immunization or written documentation of medical contraindications or a signed declination statement by the individual
  • Submit fingerprints for a mandatory background check
  • Name does not appear on the abuse registry
  • Be able to provide employment and personal references with recent knowledge of ability to perform and maintain employment

Free Kids’ Haircuts @ JCPenney & Remington College

Remington College’s Cuts for Kids Program

Ask any parent about getting their kids ready to go back to school and they’ll tell you it can be a costly and time-consuming ordeal. In order to make the process easier, Remington College Cosmetology students, faculty, and staff hold an annual event called “Cuts for Kids” that offers complimentary haircuts for children 17 years of age or younger before the first two weeks of the new school year.
