Retirement of skilled workers creating void in Memphis

As new manufacturing operations prepare to hire workers in Memphis, existing chemical manufacturing companies with aging work forces aren’t sure how they’ll fill those positions when they retire.

Companies such as PMC Biogenix Inc., Buckman and DuPont Chemicals and Flouroproducts each employ 250 or more employees, and a large percentage of employees are reaching retirement age.
