ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Works under the supervision of an assigned supervisor to provide maintenance and service of various types of heavy equipment such as paving machines, compactor, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, etc. Drives a service truck to different work sites to lubricate and fuel equipment.  Uses pressurized lubrication equipment to lubricate and fill tanks of equipment with specified lubricants and fuel.  Performs routine preventative maintenance such as: inspections, checking and adding water to batteries and radiators, checking and changing filters as needed.  Takes oil samples from heavy equipment to be analyzed.   Keeps daily records of equipment serviced and supplies used.  Reports equipment defects or malfunctions to supervisor. Performs and analyzes diagnostic reports on various types of heavy equipment to ensure equipment is properly functioning according to required standards.  Maintains the required documentation on equipment to properly document the function and operation of various types of heavy equipment especially as it applies to service needs and requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the direction of the Manager of Exhibits to plan, design and construct permanent and temporary museum exhibits and displays.  Consults with supervisor and administrative staff to ascertain purpose, location, budget and time limitation of the exhibit projects.  Operates a CAD computer program to design exhibit components and draft isometric drawings of proposed exhibits including cases, platforms, scale models, and artifact/specimen mounts.  Constructs and installs exhibits applying basic carpentry skills and using hand and power tools.  Fabricates exhibit components from various products including wood, metal, glass, and plastics using machines, such as a lathe, drill press, and milling machine.  Devises and produces general mechanical and electrical components to animate educational exhibit units.  Monitors, repairs and maintains temporary and permanent exhibits, including the appearance and security of artifacts.  Prepares final drawings and diagrams according to job specifications.  Maintains work shop and tools.  Monitors and maintains inventory of materials and supplies. Coordinates mechanical repairs on exhibits with outside vendors.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:  Majority of work is performed in a shop environment that is normally temperature controlled.  Must be able to travel to various facilities associated with the museum, such as Lichterman Nature Center and Coon Creek Science Center.  May be exposed to fumes, odors and hazardous chemicals. Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends.

Leads, organizes, and presents security awareness training initiatives. Recommends initiatives to raise and enhance information security awareness and training through capital and operational budget planning. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local privacy and security regulations and industry best practices that keep the City abreast of privacy and security technology advances and in compliance with related laws.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSWorks under the direction of the Workplace Safety and Compliance Manger to coordinate and implement the City’s Occupational Safety and Health Program.  Acts as a liaison with City Divisions, OSHA Coordinators, and Risk Management related to safety matters.  Plans and delivers safety-related training to large and small groups in a variety of environments and assists City Divisions and OSHA coordinators in developing and presenting divisional employee safety training programs.  Ensures compliance with the Tennessee Office of Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) and Federal Office of Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Conducts weekly inspections of City of Memphis worksites and, machinery and equipment. Interviews supervisors and employees to review work practices to prepare personal protective equipment assessments.   Analyzes job safety data, OJI trends, and inspection reports to develop methods to predict possible hazards and devise preventive measures.  Responds to emergency situations that may occur 24 hours a day and assists in the investigation of accidents to determine possible unsafe working conditions or practices; analyzes loss information to determine trends and causes of accidents and recommends to management suspension of activities posing a threat to workers and/or corrective actions as needed.  Reviews and recommends revisions to workplace safety policies and procedures.  Maintains current knowledge of State and Federal regulations in addition to safety trends, issues, and equipment.

  • The Coach position will      begin March 2013 and ends in March 2014 (1 year commitment required).
  • Training will include an      all-expenses paid Coach-Mentor Institute in Chicago, IL running April 5-9,      2013.
  • Coaches will work with      middle school students 20 hours/week, typically during after-school and evening      hours.
  • Salary: $8.25/hour for      900 hours during the one-year employment period.
  • Receive a $2,000.00      Education Award (that may be applied toward college loans and/or graduate      school) upon successful completion of the CAA program.
