Responsibilities include: • Purchasing from both commercial vendors and local artists (including on consignment), entering merchandise into inventory, pricing and merchandising. • Overseeing all physical inventory and working with the Controller to ensure the accounting records are accurate. • Performing or supervising weekly cycle counts of inventory and giving changes to Controller. • Developing strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Ensures customers are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient thereby making shopping in museum store enjoyable. • Scheduling of employees and volunteers for optimal staffing. • The museum store hosts a one-day holiday artist market where local artists exhibit and sell their work. Though this is only a one-day sale, much preparation is done in inviting, advertising, setting up, organizing and executing this important event.
