Youth Pastor Opening at Anointed Temple of Praise Outreach


Anointed Temple of Praise Outreach Ministries Church, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Youth Pastor.  The Youth Pastor will direct, manage and oversee the children, youth and teen ministries; educate, minister to and train participants to become active in the ministry of the church and assist the Senior Pastor as needed with the ministry of the church.

General Areas of Responsibility/Accountability

  1. Give direction to and oversee the children, youth, and teen ministries.  Collaborates with senior pastor, senior ministry leaders and youth advisors.

a.     Identify the needs and interests of teens within the church and community.

b.     Plan and develop programs for the youth ministry.

c.     Evaluate existing programs to determine effectiveness.

d.     Identify and provide ministry opportunities for teens.

e.  Develop effective ways to communicate with parents, build relationships, and gain support for the ministry’s activities and events.

2.     Meet monthly with youth ministry advisors to pray and to discuss upcoming events, challenges, solutions and praises.

3.     Recruit youth advisors as needed. Provide training for youth advisors as needed and provide ministry goals and advisor roles/responsibilities with periodic updates. Plan minimum of one major training/inspirational workshop a year.

4.     Provide counseling and spiritual direction to children, youth, and teens on an individual basis.

5.     Participate in outreach ministry to teens who have visited the church: visits, letters, calls, etc.

6.     Lead midweek Bible study for children, youth, and teens with documented study plan and/or curriculum

7.     Plan at least one yearly youth retreat for the purpose of spiritual edification.

8.     Visit children, youth, and teens listed on the sick & shut-in list.

9.     Participate in professional development opportunities yearly, or as presented.

10.    Develop the yearly youth ministry goals and budget for approval and track expenditures throughout the year.  Submit youth ministry goal accomplishments at the end of the calendar year.

11.    Compile a youth directory, have copies made and distribute to teens and youth workers.


Education /Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in teaching or training & development + 2 years of related experience
  • Licensed as a minister or pursuing ordination and licensing as a minister
  • Two years minimum experience serving in a ministry position in a church or church sponsored-related ministry or non-profit
  • Minimum two years in management or supervision with heavy emphasis in administration
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; excellent project management and presentation skills; ability to prepare clear, concise, accurate and complete reports including statistics; strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with others at all levels
  • Must be flexible in order to meet the needs of the church and surrounding community
  • Must be able to demonstrate compassion and show mercy toward others

Hours:                         8:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. Monday – Friday

Job Summary:  Responsible for various functions relating to transportation and logistics for warehouse operations.  Duties include coordinating transport of product, regulation compliance, fleet maintenance, carrier services management, purchase and billing evaluation and business expense reporting and analysis.



  • Coordinate all traffic functions relating to freight movement into and out the Food Bank warehouses, maintaining prescribed service levels, and keeping costs at a minimum while ensuring efficient resource utilization and achievement of service goals.
  • Assure compliance with all government regulations through appropriate transportation policies and programs designed to provide the required levels of transportation services which meet cost and service objectives, along with Food Bank and agency needs.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations on dispatching drivers for customer pickups and agency deliveries as required.  Determine the most economical traffic patterns.
  • Manage maintenance of the fleet to ensure that vehicles are clean and operating properly.
  • Maintain timely inspections and licensing of all vehicles.
  • Arrange for carrier services by securing appropriate bids, prepare and file claims for damages, lost shipments, and overcharges.  Evaluate carrier performance and recommend changes in mode and/or carrier.
  • Work with executive management to develop policies and procedures for rate negotiation and the purchase of transportation, the Food Bank truck fleet, freight bill auditing and overcharge claims and optimum traffic routes.
  • Analyze transportation costs, equipment availability and service levels, making recommendations and instituting corrective action.
  • Maintain working relationships that ensure the success of Food Bank programs.  This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with donors, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Three to five years transportation and logistics experience; must be familiar with transportation management systems. A minimum of two years of college preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations including DOT/Safety regulations and compliance record keeping.
  • Computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate and legible records.
  • Must be able to drive a truck, operate a fork lift and pallet jacks; commercial driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and solve problems.
  • Ability to work well with donors, vendors, agency representatives and Food Bank staff.
  • Acceptance of philosophy of food banking.

The Research and Evaluation Specialist will work from the Memphis, TN location to ensure a high quality experience for girls and volunteers by advising on the creation of evaluation tools which assess member experiences and outcomes.


Brief Summary:

  • Develops and implements an overall evaluation and research strategy related to the council’s strategic goals
  • Leads and oversees the implementation of data collection and data collection instruments and procedures to ensure a systematic approach to assessing the impact of the council’s work is developed
  • Designs and conducts research and analysis studies on topics of importance to the council and its constituencies, with particular focus on outcomes measurement of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
  • Connects council work with nationally developed tools and research
  • Works with key members of management to assess how impact can best be measured and develops ways to collect data and analyze results;
  • Plays a key role in the continuous education of staff regarding impact and evaluation results


Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or two to three years experience in evaluations and surveying.  The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite and the Internet.  The ability to plan, prioritize and work in a team environment as well as work independently is also required. The candidate should possess strong analytical and organizational skills and great attention to detail.  The Research and Evaluation Specialist should be able to quickly learn new software and foster contributions from people with diverse backgrounds. The ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends is also a requirement. All candidates should have a valid driver’s license and be able to use their own vehicle for the position. A good driving record is preferred.

POSITION TITLE: BRIDGES AmeriCorps Full-Time Member: Bridge Builders®  Facilitation Specialist

REPORTS TO: Director of Community Engagement


BRIDGES is seeking four full-time AmeriCorps Members (1700 hours of service required) to serve as Facilitation Specialists for the Bridge Builders® program from August 1, 2013 to July 31, 2014. Members will serve an average 35-40 hours per week during the academic year and 40+ hours per week during the summer (June –July).


AmeriCorps Members will receive a stipend of $17,000 and, upon completion of service, an education award of $5,550. Other benefits include health insurance, student loan deferment, professional networking and training and the opportunity to serve with a dedicated team of AmeriCorps members and BRIDGES staff to create positive community change.

BRIDGES unites and inspires diverse young people to become confident and courageous leaders committed to community transformation. Our Bridge Builders® program uses an experiential learning/adventure based education model to bring together middle and high school youth from more than 120 schools across the Greater Memphis area. Located in the Uptown neighborhood, the BRIDGES Center is the first green commercial building in Memphis and features a state of the art indoor high ropes course and rock climbing wall.


1. Serve 35-40 hours per week during the academic year and 40+ hours per week during the summer. Program dates and times vary but normally occur during the school day and afterschool (Monday through Friday from 7:30am – 8pm), and on weekends (Saturdays from 8am-5pm and Sundays from 1pm – 8pm). Intensive summer programming occurs May 28 – July 28; hours vary but normally occur Monday through Friday from 7:30am-8:00pm.

2. Facilitate/co-facilitate Bridge Builders meetings, workshops and full day events on-site at the BRIDGES Center and in schools and outside organizations (members will receive training in the Bridge Builders curriculum and facilitation).

3. Lead groups of 15-25 adolescent youth through experiential learning activities and discussions focused on leadership, community and justice.

4. Assist with the recruitment and retention of Bridge Builders participants and BRIDGES Corps volunteers, including distributing materials, building relationships with youth organizations and colleges, and attracting new partners and program participants.

5. Prepare and maintain program materials and curriculum and assist with set-up, logistics and clean-up for BRIDGES meetings, events and trainings.

6. Facilitate pre- and post-program evaluations.

7. Attend and provide support at BRIDGES events, including volunteer trainings, parent meetings and community events.

8. Represent BRIDGES and the AmeriCorps program through social media and events.

9. Ensure, with the guidance of the Director of Bridge Builders,that risk management procedures are implemented and followed during Bridge Builders® programming.

10. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement or other senior managers.


1. To serve in AmeriCorps, individuals must be at least 17 years of age; have a high school diploma or GED; and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien. Documentation of age, education and citizenship are required once an offer has been extended.

2. Embraces the AmeriCorps Spirit of Service; seeks to serve wherever needed in order to support the Bridge Builders program and youth participants.

3. Experience working with adolescent youth. Experience in the field of experiential/ adventure based education is a plus.

4. Possess a genuine interest, knowledge and passion for BRIDGES mission and Bridge Builders program components, including community building, leadership development and youth-led movements for racial, economic, educational and environmental justice.

5. Desire to work with a diverse population of adolescent youth and to assist in coaching and developing the strengths and skills of youth participants so that their unique assets are recognized and developed.

6. Is a lifelong learner.

7. Strong communication skills; demonstrated interpersonal, intercultural, and leadership skills.

8. Detail oriented with ability to multi-task.

9. Must be computer literate with knowledge of and experience using Microsoft products.

10. Must have reliable transportation to the BRIDGES Center and to multiple program venues throughout the city.

11. Must be able to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis.




1. Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit departments at BRIDGES Center, schools, off campus training sessions, summer camps and conferences, etc.

2. Member will participate in all high-energy activities of the Experiential Learning Center; participation requires ability to climb, run, stoop, elevate to high ropes course, etc.

3. Able to lift, carry and / or move 40 pounds unassisted and up to 75 pounds with assistance.

4. Member is regularly required to walk, talk, see and hear.

5. While performing the duties of this job, the member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear and see.

Bridge Builders® Facilitator Intern


Director of Community Engagement


Intern will serve as a trained facilitator in BRIDGES youth programs. The intern will be responsible for leading and/or co-leading groups of 15-20 adolescent youth through experiential learning activities and discussions focused on community, leadership and justice.


Interns will sign-up each month to facilitate meetings and events that occur in the evenings (4-8pm) and on Saturdays. All interns are also required to participate in the BRIDGES Corps program, which provides trainings and events to BRIDGES interns and volunteers. A minimum of 80 hours per semester is required for the internship. This is an unpaid internship, however, it may be eligible for academic credit (please contact your faculty advisor or university advisor).
