DETAILER (Sales Support/Stocker)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

  • Under limited supervision, restocks products in customer locations during high volume and high traffic times on off days of Route Sales Representatives, pulling product from storage areas in ‘back of the store’.
  • Ensures products are properly displayed and rotated.  Clean and straighten shelves/racks, checking code dates, rotating product and removing unsaleables.
  • Employee may assist in assembling and disassembling temporary mobile displays. Limited contact with store customers and clients. 
  • Decision making is moderate, which is governed by procedure while focused on daily operations. 
  • Analyzes situation accurately, taking effective action; following written and oral instructions; organize and coordinate work; communicating tactfully and effectively, working independently in absence of direct supervision; ability to work under narrow time constraints; while maintaining effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment. 
  • Reliable transportation and driver’s license is required as well as proof of insurance coverage.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, evenings. 
  • Position is part time, 5-25 hours per week, days vary.
  • This job requires working in all weather conditions, a background investigation for work history and criminal record check, and the ability to  pass a drug test

Job Summary

  • Performs administrative duties and clerical functions in order to ensure streamlined day-to-day business operations of Literacy Mid-South;
  • Manages special event volunteers and office volunteers and interns.
  • In partnership with the Executive Director, assists with the coordination of all special events.
  • Prepares and sends all donor acknowledgment letters for monetary and in-kind donations; all honor and memorial acknowledgments and other information as needed;
  • Utilizes donor database software to store, edit, format, print and revise letters, memos, statistical tables, reports, forms, labels and other printed material. Maintains records, checks data, and prepares reports as needed.
  • Ensures direct mail is processed and mailed according to USPS regulations;
  • Maintains and updates contact information for all vendors;
  • Answers telephone and handles requests in an appropriate manner.
  • Orders office supplies
  • Coordinate the reconciliation of deposits with Finance Director;
  • Processes all incoming mail and distribute accordingly.
  • Prepares and distributed daily cash receipt reports to designated staff
  • Speaks to outside groups and conducts tours as necessary
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested

 

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
  • Knowledge of development and donor databases required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Self-starter and team player able to work independently and collaboratively within a small staff.
  • Detail oriented

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located at the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites operation at Naval Support Activity Mid-South, TN.  The incumbent will manage daily operations of a 200+ room lodging program. The incumbent is responsible for operating a professional facility, consistent with those services and amenities provided in a commercial, mid-grade hotel. The goal is to provide clean, comfortable accommodations for guests in a TDY or Space Available status, at the lowest possible cost while contributing to the highest level of mission readiness. Responsible for the efficient and proper use of all NAF and APF resources, including funds, personnel, facilities, supplies and equipment. Provides short and long range financial plans and ensures property stays within approved plans. Responsible for the safeguarding of all funds, including but not limited to cash receipts, deposits, disbursement and accountability. Approves all requisitions for equipment, supplies and amenities. Responsible for the receipt and storage of all inventory, consumable, non-consumable, minor property and fixed assets. Analyzes monthly financial statements to ensure financial stability and that the program stays within budget. Prepares reports for higher authority and analyzes, evaluates and implements instructions and notices from higher authority. Meets CNIC standardization goals and participates in the NGIS Accreditation program. Performs internal management control vulnerability studies and reviews to develop controls to prevent losses and implement cost saving measures. Performs full range of supervisory duties for one or more site subordinates, including but not limited to assigning work, establishing and revising priorities, evaluating performance, approving/disapproving leave requests, selecting management/supervisory candidates and approves selections of entry-level employees, recommends pay adjustments and/or awards per policy, and recommends corrective and/or disciplinary action as warranted. Establishes and maintains a professional employee training and development program. Ensure subordinates are fully aware of and comply with appropriate personnel, safety and environmental laws and regulations. Establish liaison with divisions, departments, directorates, and other offices that provide goods and services to the operations. Assesses trends and problems that span the operation, recommends necessary changes and evaluates results. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements and minor and/or major construction. Markets the NGIS program to ensure patrons are aware of the availability of NGIS assets and programs. Develops performance work statements for contract services and measures compliance through inspections, audits, and customer critiques. Performs other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

A Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management or related field is preferred, but may be substituted with lodging experience. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a management position related to lodging operation, with at least 3 years supervisory experience. Must understand the daily operation of a hotel to include safety, environmental and fire prevention regulations and practices; hotel management procedures; and front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance operating principles and practices; and have a working knowledge of an automated property management system(s) (experience with Epitome desirable). Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English. Must possess basic math, reading, and computer skills; to include word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Must be able to understand and utilize a wide range of military policies and regulations pertaining to often complex situations involving the planning, funding, construction, maintenance and utilization of government owned, leased, rented or contracted facilities.  Incumbent is expected to meet the qualifications for the professional accreditation as a Certified Lodging Manager within 12 months of accepting the position. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Subject to a favorable National Agency Check background investigation. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located at Naval Support Activity Mid-South, TN., Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Fitness, Sports and Aquatics Division.  The incumbent of this position is responsible for directing and controlling all subordinate functions within the division which may include: preparing plans and schedules; establishing and evaluating mid-range and long range objectives; reviewing and approving requirements and request for resources; preparing and reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, statistical data, directives, instructions and marketing plans. Incumbent coordinates all sports programs and provide technical guidance as required. Incumbent supervises the safe operation of the facility/facilities including indoor/outdoor courts, locker rooms, multiple sports fields, lockers/saunas/restrooms, office area, outdoor/indoor storage compounds, plus surrounding outdoor grounds. Incumbent assists with the development of programs, events and activities for the assigned gymnasium/fitness complex. Plans and schedules use of all indoor/outdoor sports facilities during assigned hours. Assists in preparation of and provides input for the APF/NAF annual operating budget for the overall sports, fitness and aquatics as directed. Directly supervises 1 full-time NA-10 Maintenance Mechanic and 4 flexible NF-01 sports/fitness employees. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

A Bachelors Degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Health, Physical Fitness or Exercise Physiology is preferred, but may be substituted by an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Must possess a minimum of one year documented experience in sports and fitness with a minimum of one year in a lead or supervisory position; strongly preferred.  Applicant must have knowledge to design instructional opportunities to assist individuals in developing a multitude of sport specific skills and facilitate clinics in proper play, rules and regulations of sports activities which they may not be familiar with. Incumbent will be required to develop and execute “How-to” sport seminars, monitor the performance of the contracted officials’ performance, research new and developing sport management trends to ensure NSA Mid-South MWR has an active and robust sports program. Must be skilled in computer usage of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer.
