Location: 7945 Wolf River Blvd Department:  Plastic Surgery  


Schedule   surgeries and pre-operative tests, and counsel patients about their financial   responsibility prior to surgery. Act as a liaison between physician, patient,   and hospital or surgery center.

Ensures and maintains the confidentiality of patient   information and other UTMG business information in accordance with HIPAA and   other compliance standards.  Complies   with the Code of Conduct and other established policies, including but not   limited to compliance, quality and safety.  Acts in accordance with UT Medical Groups’   mission at all times.

Essential responsibilities   include, but are not limited to:

Surgery   Scheduling Duties

  •   Receives instructions from physicians about which   surgery or test is recommended
  •   Obtains precertification/preauthorization from   insurance companies prior to surgery for each procedure and test, using an   online application or by contacting insurer on the telephone
  •   Verifies patient eligibility and coverage for the   procedure using an online application or the telephone; if patient is not   eligible on date of service, or procedure is not a covered benefit, explains   this to patients
  •   Counsels patients pre-operatively regarding their   potential financial obligations, and provides information about patient   insurance coverage
  •   Discusses pre-operative instructions with the patient,   as directed by physicians
  •   Assists patients with setting up payment plans, and   collects all co-pays, co-insurances, pre-surgical deposits and full amounts
  •   Schedules operating room time, according to physician   scheduling protocols; faxes H&P to hospital admitting department
  •   Schedules all appropriate pre-operative tests and blood   work
  •   Coordinates all business and clinical paperwork prior   to surgery, using physician-approved forms and checklists; has paperwork   ready for surgeon prior to the day of surgery

Other Duties

  •   Responds to written and telephone inquiries from   patient and carriers regarding planned surgeries
  •   Maintains communication among the physician, patient,   insurance company and hospital at all times
  •   Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA   and compliance guidelines established by the practice
  •   Ensures that clinical records are up to date and   maintained
  •   Attends continuing education courses as requested
  •   Attends all regular staff meetings
  •   Completes all other duties as assigned by the Manager


·           High School diploma or   equivalent required.  College education   preferred.

  • 3 years        work experience in a medical setting, preferably revenue services or        surgery scheduling experience.  Experience        working in plastic or cosmetic surgery practice preferred.
  • CMA/LPN        certification a plus
  • Effective        interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Organizational        Skills
  • Customer        service orientation
  • Knowledge        of medical terminology preferred
  •   Knowledge of medical practice   management software and EMR required.

 Campus Accountant

 L’Ecole Culinaire – Memphis has an excellent opportunity for a Campus Accountant.  This position is responsible for maintaining, tracking and reporting student accounts and accounts payables and receivables.  The Accountant monitors and reports on the campus financial activity.  In addition, this position ensures compliance with regulatory agencies in the area of student payments, Title IV funds, and refunds, and monitors the collection efforts of the campus to ensure objectives are being met.

Specific responsibilities are:

Administers new and existing  accounts in ACCPAC and CampusVue software programs each start date, by  invoicing, maintaining and reviewing each.

  1. Administers and applies receipt      of all funds, including student payments, agency payments and scholarships      to the student accounts.
  2. Prepares and deposits all      receipts for the day, or as needed.
  3. Invoices students for books,      uniforms, tools, and supplies each new phase.  In addition, distributes and issues textbooks, equipment and supplies.
  4. Administers student      installments payments for each phase.  Tracks and reports internally      and externally on collection efforts.
  5. Administers student refund      program to include withdrawals and drops, ensuring all refunds are      requested and made in compliance with regulatory agency requirements and      corporate policies.
  6. Works on special projects as      directed by the campus director.

This position requires an Associate’s degree plus 5-8 years of experience in accounting arena.  In addition, the position requires personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) and accounting software.  Excellent spelling and grammar skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful and concise manner, is essential.  In addition, must have in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with ability to use in varied situations.
