Route Sales Associate – General

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

 

·         Under general supervision, develops account sales and delivers products to various stores (i.e. grocery, convenience, schools, gas stations, etc.) within the designated route area.

·         Driving delivery truck in and out of the distribution center.  .  The type of truck will vary by route and zone needs, up to and including a 24’ box truck.  .

·         Performs inventory for product cases in truck, loading and unloading products to and from truck and delivering product cases to customer locations, may use a 2-wheel dolly or other rolling product equipment.

·         Displays product on display racks in customer accounts (Store Door Delivery).  May create signs and displays on product.  May be required to build displays of various sizes and heights.

·         Empties product cases, flattens, loads back on truck and returns to the Distribution Center.

·          Responsible for communicating and selling product promotions, displays and maintaining key locations in high traffic areas within customer locations.

·         Ensures target goals are maintained for sales, waste and safety.  Maintains daily paperwork and cash flow integrity.

·         Directly impacts the sales process having continuous contact with customers.  Decision-making is extensive, which is governed by policy and guided by procedure while focused on daily operations.

·         Previous sales experience a plus. Able to read, write, communicate in English.

·         This is a full time position, averaging 50 hours a week, days off will vary depending on route type, hour may vary, and position may require early more starts in order to accommodate vendor requirements.

·         This position requires working in all weather conditions.

·         A “clear” driving record for the past (3) years is required.  A CDL license is not required.

·         This position analyzes situation accurately, taking effective action; following written and oral instructions; organize and coordinate work; collect, chart and interpret statistical data, calculate mathematical equations, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, analyze and problem solve, communicating tactfully and effectively, working independently in absence of direct supervision; ability to work under narrow time constraints; while maintaining effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment

·         This position requires passing a pre-employment sales aptitude test, background investigation of work history and criminal check, a drug test and a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.

·         This job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position.  Employees will follow any other instructions, and perform any other related duties, as may be required by their supervisor.

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.  This position is classified as medium work.  It involves frequent lifting, up to 15 pounds.  On occasion, lifting of 40 pounds may be required.  Position requires frequent reaching, pushing/pulling, and use of fingers.

Career Academy offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training program.  4 Week day classes and 6 week evening classes are available.   The school serves as the state test site, and the Director is a member of the TN State Test Advisory Panel.   The school is authorized through the TN Higher Education Commission & TN Department Of Health.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Grants and Contract Management

Research grants funding to support mission of Friends For Life. Write grant proposals to support mission of Friends For Life. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual grant and contract reports. Oversee grant contracts to ensure timely earning of contracts. Maintain open communications with grant funders. Review all contracts for accuracy prior to execution. Maintain all grant and contract information in FR50. Complete reports as required that show annual levels of grants submitted and funded. Maintain electronic file of all grant requests, proposals and contracts and other grant/contract related materials. Other duties as assigned.

Evaluation

Take lead in ensuring agency-wide evaluation program is maintained. Ensure all program assessments are completed on schedule, data entered into CAREWare and program reports completed on schedule. Update evaluation forms as necessary. Complete all reports necessary to maintain up-to-date evaluation data. Analyze all data to ensure proposed program outcomes are being met. Provide accurate, complete and timely data entry and reporting of all relevant program and consumer data into CAREWare, HMIS, Evaluweb and/or other reporting systems as requested by supervisor.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all aspects of the Friends For Life website. Create, write and distribute an agency e-newsletter monthly.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred. Five years grant research and grant writing experience preferred. Proven success in grant writing and securing funding. Five years of experience in the development of programs to meet the needs of persons with HIV/AIDS preferred. Nonprofit background preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years management/supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of MS Windows and MS office suite with an emphasis on MS Word and MS Outlook. Strong analytical and research skills. Ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues while maintaining strict confidentiality. Ability to maintain objectivity. Public speaking skills. An ability to work well with all types of people. Flexibility.

Affordable Care Act Reminder

Important Reminder!

December 23 was the deadline to enroll in one of the Affordable Care Act Marketplace insurance plans for coverage beginning January 1, 2014.   Visit www.healthcare.gov to enroll online.   Consumers who enroll by today’s deadline will have until January 10 to pay the first month’s premium for coverage that will be retroactive to January 1.  Some insurers may have a later deadline for first premium payment; check with your chosen insurance company.

Missed the December 23rd deadline?  Consumers still have until March 31, 2014 to enroll in one of the ACA Marketplace plans.

DEFINITION:

Assists in the collection, processing, shipping, and security of all fare box revenues and the operation, cleaning and maintenance for all associated equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Count fare box revenues manually and using jet sort coin machine and jet scan currency machine. Prepare for the transportation of revenues to the bank.
  •  Exchange fare box vaults and deposit revenue into receiver units utilizing a forklift.
  •  Provide security for the Coin Room and fare collection equipment.
  •  Operate revenue collection equipment, including probes and fare boxes.
  •  Assist with inventory of revenue and service vehicles.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School diploma or GED required.

 

Other:

Must be able to operate a forklift. Must possess basic math skills and be able to use a calculator. Must be bondable and be able to pass a background security check. Requires ability to handle numerous activities at one time. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Environment:

Extensive standing and walking are required in the course of a normal day. May be required to lift and carry 50 lbs; overhead lifting and reaching. Requires the ability to withstand exposure to weather conditions, dust, engine fumes, toxic chemicals and extreme noise levels. Must be able to climb in and out of buses in order to insert and remove the boxes in the fare box in 30 seconds. Requires ability to hear telephone and directions given, distinguish equipment problems associated with troubleshooting repairs and visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance.

 

Miscellaneous:

Must be flexible to work shift hours and days as assigned including weekends. Work record of current employees will be reviewed for satisfactory job performance.

Job Title: Maintenance Laborer

Hourly Wage: $9.00 per hour during training

CLOSING DATE FOR ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS:                        December 31, 2013                        Time: 4:00 p.m.

DEFINITION:

Perform general cleaning duties at the MATA facility to buildings, grounds, and equipment subject to inspection utilizing automatic and manual cleaning equipment.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Perform general cleaning duties at the MATA facility to buildings, grounds, and equipment subject to inspection utilizing automatic and manual cleaning equipment.
  • Service and clean all equipment.
  • Steam cleans engines and other mechanical parts on vehicles.
  • Clean sewer lines and bathrooms.
  • Patch roof and parking lot.

Other Job Functions:

  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
  • Distribute sand in inclement weather by driving a MATA sand truck.
  • Pick up parts from supply warehouses and stores and runs errands for maintenance department by driving a MATA vehicle.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Other:

Must have valid driver’s license. Ability to operate cleaning and other equipment used in the cleaning of equipment, buildings and grounds such as steam cleaner, buffer, forklift, etc. Must be able to read and understand directions given on work cards and orders; write legibly to complete orders and receive parts and supplies.

Environment:

Extensive walking and standing; lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. and lifting parts and materials overhead. Requires ability to withstand exposure to weather conditions, dust, engine fumes, toxic chemicals and extreme noise levels. Must be able to climb on a ladder or other equipment up to heights such as on roof of buildings at MATA facility. Must be able to crawl or stoop into tight areas and lay horizontal under a vehicle. Requires ability to hear directions given; visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance.

Miscellaneous:

Must be willing to work shift hours and days as assigned. Work records of current employees will be reviewed for satisfactory performance and minimum qualifications.
