CNA Training – Career Academy

Career Academy offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training program.  4 Week day classes and 6 week evening classes are available.   The school serves as the state test site, and the Director is a member of the TN State Test Advisory Panel.   The school is authorized through the TN Higher Education Commission & TN Department Of Health.

The tuition of $1350 may be covered by the TN Career Center (WIN) for those who qualify.

SUMMARY:  The Friends For Life’s Director of Grants and Contracts Management will serve as the agency’s point of contact to engage in activities necessary to write grants and manage contracts to support the mission of Friends For Life.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Grants and Contract Management

Research grants funding to support mission of Friends For Life. Write grant proposals to support mission of Friends For Life. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual grant and contract reports. Oversee grant contracts to ensure timely earning of contracts. Maintain open communications with grant funders. Review all contracts for accuracy prior to execution. Maintain all grant and contract information in FR50. Complete reports as required that show annual levels of grants submitted and funded. Maintain electronic file of all grant requests, proposals and contracts and other grant/contract related materials. Other duties as assigned.

Evaluation

Take lead in ensuring agency-wide evaluation program is maintained. Ensure all program assessments are completed on schedule, data entered into CAREWare and program reports completed on schedule. Update evaluation forms as necessary. Complete all reports necessary to maintain up-to-date evaluation data. Analyze all data to ensure proposed program outcomes are being met. Provide accurate, complete and timely data entry and reporting of all relevant program and consumer data into CAREWare, HMIS, Evaluweb and/or other reporting systems as requested by supervisor.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all aspects of the Friends For Life website. Create, write and distribute an agency e-newsletter monthly.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred. Five years grant research and grant writing experience preferred. Proven success in grant writing and securing funding. Five years of experience in the development of programs to meet the needs of persons with HIV/AIDS preferred. Nonprofit background preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years management/supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of MS Windows and MS office suite with an emphasis on MS Word and MS Outlook. Strong analytical and research skills. Ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues while maintaining strict confidentiality. Ability to maintain objectivity. Public speaking skills. An ability to work well with all types of people. Flexibility.

Affordable Care Act Reminder

Important Reminder!

December 23 was the deadline to enroll in one of the Affordable Care Act Marketplace insurance plans for coverage beginning January 1, 2014.   Visit www.healthcare.gov to enroll online.   Consumers who enroll by today’s deadline will have until January 10 to pay the first month’s premium for coverage that will be retroactive to January 1.  Some insurers may have a later deadline for first premium payment; check with your chosen insurance company.

Missed the December 23rd deadline?  Consumers still have until March 31, 2014 to enroll in one of the ACA Marketplace plans.

Check the Memphis Public Library’s Affordable Care Act link at www.memphislibrary.org later this week for details on more in-person assistance dates and times in January, February and March!

Job Title: Part-Time Coin Room Clerk

Hourly Wage: $10.00 (15 hrs. per week minimum, work shift may vary)

(Must be able to work weekday mornings, afternoons, and every other Saturday)

 

CLOSING DATE FOR ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS:

Date: Monday, January 6, 2014

Time: 4:00 p.m.

 

DEFINITION:

Assists in the collection, processing, shipping, and security of all fare box revenues and the operation, cleaning and maintenance for all associated equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Count fare box revenues manually and using jet sort coin machine and jet scan currency machine. Prepare for the transportation of revenues to the bank.
  •  Exchange fare box vaults and deposit revenue into receiver units utilizing a forklift.
  •  Provide security for the Coin Room and fare collection equipment.
  •  Operate revenue collection equipment, including probes and fare boxes.
  •  Assist with inventory of revenue and service vehicles.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School diploma or GED required.

 

Other:

Must be able to operate a forklift. Must possess basic math skills and be able to use a calculator. Must be bondable and be able to pass a background security check. Requires ability to handle numerous activities at one time. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Environment:

Extensive standing and walking are required in the course of a normal day. May be required to lift and carry 50 lbs; overhead lifting and reaching. Requires the ability to withstand exposure to weather conditions, dust, engine fumes, toxic chemicals and extreme noise levels. Must be able to climb in and out of buses in order to insert and remove the boxes in the fare box in 30 seconds. Requires ability to hear telephone and directions given, distinguish equipment problems associated with troubleshooting repairs and visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance.

 

Miscellaneous:

Must be flexible to work shift hours and days as assigned including weekends. Work record of current employees will be reviewed for satisfactory job performance.
