Duties:  Install, test and maintain various types of pumping station instruments and equipment; and operate personal computer in the performance of job duties.

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Instrumentation or Telecommunications Engineering Technology.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.   Must successfully complete NIMS training within one year of entering job.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 004 “Electronics Technician”)/Performance Exercises and Physical Abilities Test (CGS Level III).

Job Duties:   Palletizing, loading and unloading an assembly line, sorting, stacking and staging plastic containers.  Materials handled in the facility weigh approximately 2 -3 pound each.


Job Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of warehouse or manufacturing experience
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment
  • Ability to work in a team orientated production work environment
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Have the flexibility to work overtime as needed, typically with little to no notice
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand though out an 8 hour shift

  • 1st shift – Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm $8.50 an hour
  • 2nd shift – Monday – Friday 3pm – 11:30pm $8.75 an hour
  • 3rd shift – Sunday – Thursday 11pm – 7:30 am $8.75 an hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Works under the supervision of a maintenance foreman in the Public Works Division.  Performs semiskilled manual work in assisting in the repair and maintenance of city streets and road-side ditches.  Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment from truck.  Digs, spreads and levels asphalt, using shovel and lute.  Uses air hammer and pavement saw to break out asphalt and concrete.  Uses chain saw and hand saw to remove trees from right-of-way of city streets.  Lifts, carries, and holds materials, tools, and supplies.


1.       Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Requires traversing on uneven ground sometimes across ditches, climbing, crouching, and ability to crawl.  Requires the ability to perform heavy manual work which will involve lifting rims, tools, concrete bags, and materials, which can weigh up to 50 lbs. as well as handling of manhole covers and inlet grates (approximately 150 lbs.) with assistance. Requires ability to operate hand tools such as shovel, asphalt lute and heavy construction equipment including chain and pavement saw.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions and temperatures.  May be exposed to noise and traffic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and three (3) months experience in construction and maintenance or related area; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions.
