POSITION: DISPATCHER– (1 Opening) ANNUAL SALARY: $26,761.54 – $38,230.66 BI-WEEKLY: $1,029.29 – $1,470.41 Public Works/Heavy Equipment J.O. #14-085
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Heavy Equipment/ Sweeper Services in the Public Works Division in providing customer service, administrative support and data entry duties. Receives, monitors, and processes service requests and complaints into the appropriate systems. Provides and validates follow-up regarding resolutions and incident information from service request and complaints. Maintains and files electronic copies of complaints and resolutions. Answers telephone and obtains necessary information. Records time, location, and nature of call and relays information to supervisor and sweepers assigned to area in which work occurs, using two-way radio. Refers and routes other service centers calls or requests to appropriate department or agency. Updates and conducts routine audits of the daily dispatch log. Logs and tracks forms such as: Request for Leave, and Personnel Change Forms, etc. Prepares accounts payable check request. Routes mail to appropriate destination. Tracks and monitors trucks or equipment in order to ensure efficient dispatching of calls.

Purpose: Perform inside/outside general unskilled to semi-skilled manual labor duties associated with vehicle maintenance, housekeeping, grounds maintenance and warehouse depending on job assignment.
Must successfully complete Placement (Group 006 “General Utility and Custodial Workers”)/Performance Exercises. Must successfully complete Physical Abilities Test (PCM Level II). Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence. Some jobs may require that you obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification.
WorkEnvironment: Works inside and outside. Subject to the hazards of heavy lifting and carrying; physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, grasping. May be subject to noise, dust and dirt. Shift work may be required depending on assignment.
Candidates accepting Employment with MLGW must live and maintain their residence within the boundaries of Shelby Country, Tennessee within six months of their employment date. EOE M/F/D/V
