Job Title: Lineman
Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Job Title: Customer Service Technician II (Part-Time)

Duties: Disconnect services; perform rate and consumption checks and meter reading verification; report misuse of Division services; and utilize computerized mobile service dispatching in the performance of the job.

Must successfully complete Customer Contact Test. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 05A “Investigators”)/Performance Exercises. Must successfully complete NIMS training within one year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works outside majority of time. Subject to hazards of weather; low voltage electric shock; sewer gas in water meter vaults; bad dogs; falls; working and driving in traffic (bad roads, ice and snow); medium lifting; and other physical activities such as climbing stairs, pulling, pushing, grasping, bending, stooping, standing, balancing, crouching, kneeling and walking.

Job Title: Senior Functional Analyst

Duties: Perform senior professional level work to support the assigned division with documentation and flowcharting of processes and/or procedures; write business requirements, test scripts, critical system reports and formulas; perform gap analyses and testing of upgrades/new enhancements; prepare and defend business requirements; document areas’/departments’ processes and/or procedures for system enhancements; resolve system problems; and perform assigned area professional work duties.

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses. Must have 4 years experience in evaluating, testing, implementing and upgrading system applications. Experience requirements will vary according to departmental needs. Must have demonstrated knowledge of and application of computer software such as spreadsheets, Word, Access, presentation, etc. Must have a basic knowledge of assigned Division operations. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works in office the majority of time. Subject to hazards at work sites during analyses.

Job Title: Computer Software Specialist III

Duties: Apply advanced-level business and information technology system practices and/or project management methodology in analyzing information requirements to determine hardware/software solutions; develop project plans; and implement, develop or maintain enterprise information systems to meet project deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business with a concentration in Information Systems or Math with a concentration in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses.

Must have at least six years of experience and meet proficiency requirements. Must have at least one year of demonstrated experience as the primary support person for a particular system or application and at least demonstrated knowledge and skills in one or more of the fields listed below. Experience and knowledge requirements will vary according to area and departmental needs.

Job Title: Power and Structures Engineer III

Duties: Apply engineering principles to power and substation structural design and perform other related engineering functions.

Job Title: Electronics Communications Technician

Duties: Install, maintain, test and repair the Division’s two-way radio communication system, color video recording equipment and other diversified electronic equipment; locate electronic interference. Operate infrared scanner to perform heat surveys of transmission/distribution/network systems and substations; locate and report equipment/components overheating such as transformers, switches and capacitor banks; recheck completed maintenance repairs.

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering Technology. Must successfully complete Color Blind 1 Test. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 004 “Electronics Technicians”)/Performance Exercises. Must have a valid driver license from state of residence.

Works in shop and outside. Works in proximity of electrical equipment in substations and walk-in/underground vaults. Subject to medium lifting, climbing ladders, working with chemicals and standing for extended periods. May work from bucket truck.

Job Title: Safety Training Specialist – Gas

Duties: Organize, prepare and conduct safety and field training programs involving demonstrations of skills required in specific trades and lectures on theory, practices, methods, processes, safety and terminology; coordinate all operator qualification (OQ) administrative functions.

Drug screening with negative test results is required prior to entry into this classification. Associate degree and four years’ experience as Gas Fitter, with high/low pressure gas systems, gas meter repair, gas measurements and pressure regulations or a combination of experience depending on area need; or eight years’ experience as listed above without the Associate degree. Must be qualified in Operator-Qualification-covered tasks for gas operations and construction. Must successfully complete Supervisor Assessment Center prior to being offered position. Must successfully complete NIMS training within one year of entering job. Must have a valid Tennessee Commercial Driver License (CDL) based on area need. Must have a valid driver license from state of residence.

Works inside and outside. Required to work varying time schedules. Subject to standing for long periods of time while instructing classes and making field inspections; hazards associated with operating machinery, welding burns, exhaust fumes and climbing equipment such as cranes/aerial towers; and medium lifting of manuals/books and training equipment/materials. Subject to 24 hour call.

Job Title: Mechanic

Duties: Perform mechanical maintenance/repair work on Division vehicles and heavy equipment in shop and/or field.

Associate degree in Automotive Technology; or successfully completed Mechanic Apprenticeship program;or have four current ASE/ FPS certifications; or four years experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automotive vehicles, medium duty trucks or heavy equipment. ASE certifications A1-Engine Repair; or T1-Gasoline Engines; or T2-Diesel Engines and A6-Electrical/Electronics Systems or T6-Electrical/Electronic Systems are required; and based on departmental needs, the two remaining certifications will be determined from an approved ASE/FPS list. The approved ASE/FPS list includes: A1-A8; T1-T6, T8; F1; L1; and/or FPS certifications which include Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician and/or Application/Electronics Specialist.

Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03C “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises. Must pass Color Blind I Test. Must be able to differentiate sounds when making adjustments.

Works inside and outside. Subject to hazards of operating machinery and irritation from oils, solvents, chemicals and fumes. Makes service calls in the field. Performs heavy lifting. Subject to climbing, standing/walking for extended periods, and working in uncomfortable positions.
