City of Memphis Office of Youth Services Opens Application Process for Programs Creating Life Skills Training and Summer Job Opportunities for More than 1000 Memphis Youth

Memphis Ambassadors Program and MPLOY Youth to begin accepting applications Dec 1 – Jan 15 .

Memphis, Tenn. – Beginning Dec 1, Memphis youth may apply for either the Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP) or the MPLOY Youth Summer Experience on the Office of Youth Services website. Both programs are designed to offer youth in Memphis positive life skills and job training that will propel them to the next level in their lives.

MAP is a year-round program open to Memphis youth entering grades 9-12 in the 2016 school year. MAP students receive career and college preparation as well as life-building skills and community engagement opportunities.

The MPLOY Youth Summer Experience offers employment to 1,000 Memphis youth ages 14-21. Over a six-week period, youth are introduced to career paths including training for middle school students, entry-level positions for traditional and nontraditional high school students and internships for college-age students.

Applicants for both programs are selected through a random lottery system drawing scheduled for February 15, 2016. Selected participants are compensated for their participation.
