Job Title: Computer Software Specialist III

Duties: Apply advanced-level business and information technology system practices and/or project management methodology in analyzing information requirements to determine hardware/software solutions; develop project plans; and implement, develop or maintain enterprise information systems to meet project deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business with a concentration in Information Systems or Math with a concentration in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college-accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses. Must have at least six years of experience and meet proficiency requirements. Must have at least one year of demonstrated experience as the primary support person for a particular system or application and at least demonstrated knowledge and skills in one or more of the fields listed below. Experience and knowledge requirements will vary according to area and departmental needs.

Systems Programming: MQ-Series, Appworx, Windows 2003/8
Networking: Windows 2008 Server
Desktop Support: MSProject, Visio, TOAD, Unix, Linux
Database: Oracle, Access, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, ArcGIS Spatial Database Engine (ArcSDE) for Oracle, Oracle Application Server or Concurrent Processor
Web Development: HTML, JAVA, AJAX, CSS
Applications Programming: Visual Basic, ACCESS, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Mobile, Visual Basic for .Net, SQL, Business Objects, Oracle Developer 2000, Oracle Forms, Oracle Applications R12 or higher, Oracle Discoverer, Business Intelligence, Oracle reports and other programming languages, ETL tools, data modeling and data extraction.

Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside under good conditions. Subject to sitting for long periods of time at computer terminals; eye fatigue; grasping/reaching for technical manuals/printouts and distinguishing color; and occasional light lifting, bending, stooping/crouching to load computer equipment, paper and carry materials.

If there are no qualified bidders for Computer Software Specialist III, bidders will be considered for Computer Software Specialist II. If there are no qualified bidders for Computer Software Specialist II, bidders will be considered for Computer Software Specialist I.

Job Title: Electrician

Duties: Repair, maintain and install various electrical systems and equipment according to specifications and codes and perform various other electrical work.

Drug screening with negative test results is required prior to entry into this classification. Must have successfully completed approved Electrician Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete switching training. Must be able to differentiate wire colors. Must have a Class A commercial driver’s license from state of residence. Must successfully  complete Placement (Group 002 “Electricians”)/Performance Exercises.

Works inside and outside under varying conditions. Subject to the hazards of high voltage electricity; heights; operating equipment; climbing steel poles, steel structures and towers; and heavy lifting.

Job Title: Mechanic

Duties: Perform mechanical maintenance/repair work on Division vehicles and heavy equipment in shop and/or field.

Associate degree in Automotive Technology; or successfully completed Mechanic Apprenticeship program; or have four current ASE/ FPS certifications; or four years of experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automotive vehicles, medium duty trucks or heavy equipment. ASE certifications A1-Engine Repair, T1-Gasoline Engines or T2-Diesel Engines; and A6-Electrical/Electronics Systems or T6-Electrical/Electronic Systems are required. Based on departmental needs, the two remaining certifications will be determined from an approved ASE/FPS list. The approved ASE/FPS list includes: A1-A8; T1-T6, T8; F1; L1; and/or FPS certifications which include Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician and/or Application/Electronics Specialist. Must obtain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03C “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises. Must pass Color Blind I Test. Must be able to differentiate sounds when making adjustments.

Works inside and outside. Subject to hazards of operating machinery and irritation from oils, solvents, chemicals and fumes. Make service calls in the field. Performs heavy lifting. Subject to climbing, standing/walking for extended periods and working in uncomfortable positions.

Job Title: Maintenance Machinist

Duties: Set up and operate machines such as lathe, milling machine, bender or grinder in making and repairing metal parts, mechanisms, tools or machines; plan sequence of operations according to specifications, blueprints or  sketches. May operate CNC Mill machine. Repair and maintain mechanical equipment and manufacture or repair various metal items.

Drug screening with negative test results is required prior to entry into this classification. Must have successfully completed approved Maintenance Machinist Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03A “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises.

Works inside and outside. Subject to balancing, climbing/falling from ladders/high structures, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, reaching and standing for long periods of time while working on equipment, cuts/burns working with industrial machinery and heavy lifting.

Job Title: Electronics Communications Technician

Duties: Install, maintain, test and repair the Division’s two-way radio communication system, color video recording equipment and other diversified electronic equipment and locate electronic interference. Operate infrared scanner to perform heat surveys of transmission/distribution/network systems and substations; locate and report equipment/components over-heating such as transformers, switches and capacitor banks; recheck completed maintenance repairs.

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering Technology. Must successfully complete Color Blind I Test. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 004 “Electronics Technicians”)/Performance Exercises. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works in shop and outside. Works in proximity of electrical equipment in substations and walk-in/underground vaults. Subject to medium lifting, climbing ladders, working with chemicals and standing for extended periods. May work from bucket truck.

Job Title: Lineman
Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Title: Operations Coordinator Date: January 28, 2016
Schedule: M-F, 9-2pm
Position Overview: The Operations Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. The
Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing the activities of the Literacy Mid-
South offices.
Salary: $13/hr
Job Summary
• Performs administrative duties and clerical functions in order to ensure
streamlined day-to-day business operations of Literacy Mid-South.
• Provides assistance to Executive Director as needed.
• Assists with event planning and management.
• Maintains records, checks data, and prepares reports as needed.
• Maintains the Literacy Mid-South website (no HMTL knowledge needed).
• Assist with bookkeeping/accounting functions as needed.
• Maintains and updates contact information for all vendors.
• Answers telephone and handles requests in an appropriate manner.
• Orders office supplies.
• Processes all incoming mail and distributes accordingly.
• Prepares and distributes daily cash receipt reports to designated staff.
• May be called upon to assist with special projects and assume responsibility for
the development, administration, and promotion of specific projects, as requested.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.
• Participation in special events as needed.

 

Qualifications
• College degree preferred
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of development and donor databases helpful
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
• Self-starter and team player able to work independently and collaboratively within
a small staff
• Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
