Recruiter – Durham/National Express

Position Title: Recruiter

Position Location: Shelby County, TN

Due to expansion in Shelby County, TN, we are currently seeking an experienced recruiting professional to serve as a Contract Recruiter based from our Memphis Customer Service Center located at 2471 Covington Pike.  This position is responsible for the recruitment of School Bus Drivers.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for regular employment at the completion of the contract period depending on long-term business needs.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Proactively Recruit drivers through a variety of methods, social networks, social media, cold calling, referrals and community events
  • Being part of the community (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, local events, etc.)
  • Conceive and implement campaigns to drive applicant flow
  • Marketing the benefits of working for Durham as a School Bus Driver and asking for referrals from applicants
  • Researching additional advertising options (newspapers, online sources, direct mail, clubs, associations, etc.) in the area
  • Researching part-time employment Job Fairs in the area
  • Setting up and Attending Job Fairs; tracking total number of attendees, where attendees heard about Job Fair and, if attendees decide they are not interested in Driver position, capturing detailed reasons why
  • Receiving all online driver applications and guiding drivers through background and training process
  • Maintaining weekly report that tracks where all applicants, callers, walk-ins, and Job Fair attendees heard about employment with Durham
  • Compiling and reporting on Recruiting numbers on a weekly basis
  • Maintaining the highest level of ethical behavior with our customers, fellow employees, and communities we serve
  • Tracking and analyzing recruiting statistics and making recommendations for efficiencies.
  • Tracking/analyzing cost effectiveness of all advertising sources

 Position Requirements Include:

  • College coursework required; college degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of recruiting experience required with 3 or more years of experience in high volume recruiting required
  • Significant experience in the design, development, and implementation of recruiting procedures, policies, tools, metrics, KPIs, etc.
  • Headhunting, cold calling experience
  • Must be motivated, persistent, positive, knowledgeable, upbeat attitude and a good work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a consistently fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Well-developed multi-tasking, time management, and organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and transportation related software
  • Familiar with general labor laws, such as hiring requirements, wage expectations, equal opportunity employment policies, affirmative action initiatives and laws pertaining to safety, ethics and regulations
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system; Taleo preferred
  • Required to travel locally for recruiting events
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills a plus
