Job Title: Lineman

Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Job Title: Computer Software Specialist III (Customer and Geographical Information System)

Duties: Apply advanced-level business and information technology system practices and/or project management methodology in analyzing information requirements to determine hardware/software solutions; develop project plans; and implement, develop or maintain enterprise information systems to meet project deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business with a concentration in Information Systems or Math with a concentration in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses. Must have at least six years of experience and meet proficiency requirements. Must have demonstrated knowledge and skills in Oracle Forms, Oracle reports, ProC, PL/SQL. Must have at least one year of demonstrated experience as the primary support person for a particular system or application and demonstrated knowledge and skills in one or more of the following fields of expertise: Appworx or Apache Server, TOAD, Unix, Linux, Oracle, HTML, JAVA, XML, or AJAX. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside under good conditions. Subject to sitting for long periods of time at computer terminals; eye fatigue; grasping/reaching for technical manuals/printouts and distinguishing color; and occasional light lifting, bending, stooping/crouching to load computer equipment or paper and carry materials.

If there are no qualified bidders for Computer Software Specialist III, bidders will be considered for Computer Software Specialist II. If there are no qualified bidders for Computer Software Specialist II, bidders will be considered for Computer Software Specialist I.

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

Duties: Repair, maintain and/or install electric motors, generators and control equipment.

Must have successfully completed Motor and Machine Repair Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete Color Blind I Test. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 002 “Electricians”)/Performance Exercises and Physical Abilities Test (CGSIII). Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside and outside. Subject to the hazards of electrical shock, falls, climbing ladders, heavy lifting, working with rotary tools and in the proximity of machinery and equipment.

Job Title: Energy Engineer II (Gas Buyer)

Duties: Apply intermediate level engineering principles to provide technical and engineering assistance to MLGW’s largest customers, and other internal/external entities regarding energy supply issues; and evaluate the economic impact of implemented recommendations.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Must have two to four years of engineering experience. Must successfully complete NIMS training within one year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works in office and outside under fairly good conditions. Subject to occasionally working in proximity of construction, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, medium lifting and walking/standing for long periods of time while making field inspections.

If there are no qualified bidders for Energy Engineer II, bidders will be considered for Energy Engineer I.

Job Title: Electronics Technician

Duties: Perform installation, tests, maintenance/repair of various types of relays and electronic equipment/electrical instruments to transmission and distribution systems.

Drug screening with negative test results is required prior to entry into this classification. Associate degree in Electrical, Telecommunication or Electronic Engineering Technology, or related degrees. Must successfully complete Color Blind I Test. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 004 “Electronics Technicians”)/Performance Exercises. Must complete NIMS training within one year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license form state of residence.

Works inside/outside under varying conditions. Subject to hazards of falling, working in the proximity of high voltage equipment, gas and electricity, traffic, heavy lifting, climbing poles, ladders and ramps and chemical and chemical fumes. May work from a bucket truck.

Job Title: Supervisor, Safety and Technical Training

Duties: Plan, organize and supervise the Division Occupational Safety and Health Programs, which include safety inspections; development/implementation of educational/training programs; development of safety manuals/materials and procurement/maintenance of personal protective equipment to ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety laws/regulations; and serve as Safety Officer for the Division as required by state regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Engineering Technology, Education or related degree with courses in safety/health plus two to four years of professional-level experience in technical training and safety or Associate degree in Safety/Engineering Technology with courses in safety/health plus six to eight years of professional-level experience in technical training and safety. Must successfully complete Supervisor Assessment Center. Must successfully complete NIMS training within six months of entering the position. Must have knowledge of various federal, state and local safety codes, laws and regulations. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside majority of time. Subject to hazards associated with construction and occasional light lifting of training materials/equipment and standing for long periods of time while instructing classes/making presentations.
