Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work and/ or experience in related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Proven successful experience in development and facilitation of interactive training sessions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective oral and written skills
  • Proficient use of technology, including but not limited to troubleshooting, data entry, word processing, presentation software applications, social media, and website navigation
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with minimum supervision
  • Willingness to travel and must have own transportation

Job summary:

This is a supervised regional position with a grant-funded program that is designed to provide training and resources on brain injury to school personnel, families and other professionals. Ideal candidate will have brain injury knowledge, exude a positive attitude and enjoy teachable moments on behalf of a child who sustained a brain injury and their family.

Administrative responsibilities:

  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Responsible for timely data entry and collation in Salesforce Program
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation and recording of all interactions
  • Responsible to prepare reports on activities as required by the Program Director

Functional duties:

  • Plan, organize and facilitate brain injury educational training sessions to school personnel, parents, and other professionals; face-to-face and/ or webinar platforms
  • Provide educational supports to schools and others by consulting use phone, video and/ or social media platforms
  • Effective communication throughout Return to Learn (RTL) transition, currently known as the Brain Injury Transition Liaison (BITL) process, with co-workers, families, schools and healthcare professionals
  • Identify and refer to appropriate local, statewide and national resources
  • Coordinate referrals to appropriate entities such as; Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Service Coordinators
  • Provide timely follow up communications with families, schools and community resources
  • Maintain accurate records of all training/ technical assistance activities, and timely data entry into online database
  • Actively participate in regular meetings, conferences and community outreach events
  • Network with existing and new community resources; strengthen previously established contacts
  • Establish contacts and share information with local hospitals and community providers
