OPERATION SMART CHILD PROGRAM ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION DESCRIPTION:                                                                                       

STATUS: Part-Time

HOURS: 25 Hours per week

COMPENSATION: Competitive

General Purpose of Position:

Provides administrative and early childhood support for program facilitators and expectant parents.

Responsibilities:

  • Should have a thorough knowledge of Operation Smart Child departmental policies and procedure manual.
  • Should exhibit a pleasant demeanor with program participants, agency representatives and staff when performing daily tasks.
  • Collect, monitor and report relevant program and participant information.
  • Initiate and respond to program prospects and participants using the most effective and efficient communication tools.
  • Assist with program activities & events as needed.
  • May supervise and oversee small children activities.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • High School Diploma plus 3 years early childhood and social services experience
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand multi-step written and oral procedures/instructions
  • Ability to organize and process efficiently
  • Demonstrated team player with high level of professionalism
  • Adherence to NCC policies/procedures, including safety practices
  • Experience working with small children (ages 0-4) in an urban ministry/educational setting
  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Interest in and the ability to articulate the NCC Statement of Faith, Mission and Values
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and insurance with a good driving record
  • Ability to pass required background and reference checks

FedEx Plans to Hire 1,000 People this Weekend for Permanent Part-Time Jobs

The Memphis Business Journal reports that FedEx Express will have a job fair on Saturday, April 1, from 8:30am-3:00pm at “2874 Business Park Drive at Building D.

Hourly rates start at $12.62, and there is a minimum of 17.5 hours per week guaranteed. Benefits include medical coverage, with premiums starting at $5 a month, as well as vision and dental benefits and tuition assistance.”

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • “[A]ble to lift 75 pounds
  • 10-year work history, which can include time as a student” that applicants should bring with them
  • A “10-year residency history”
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening

What We’re Looking For

BWSC is currently seeking to fill a Natural Resources Project Manager position in the Environment and Water Resources business unit in one of our regional offices.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Serves as natural resources lead working with multidiscipline project team,
  • Develops scope and fees and manages project completion with regards to client communication, resource management, budget, schedule and quality requirements,
  • Performs wetland delineations, stream assessments, hydrologic determinations, and protected species surveys,
  • Prepares Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404/401 permit applications, natural resources technical reports, and other environmental regulatory compliance documents.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field such as biology, ecology, environmental science/policy, natural resources planning, geography, or a closely related discipline
  • Master’s degrees is preferred
  • More than 10 years’ experience in technical writing and field efforts including wetland delineations and stream assessments in the southeast region
  • More than 5 years’ experience in project management
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced-collaborative team atmosphere with an established group of surveyors, engineers, scientists, and administrative staff.
