Water Resources Staff Engineer – BWSC, Inc.

Water Resources Staff Engineer

 

BWSC is currently seeking to fill the position of Staff Engineer in the Environment & Water Resources business unit in Memphis, TN.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supporting senior engineering staff in the preparation of stormwater and flood reduction projects
  • Assist in developing final design plans
  • Complete assignments within budget and schedule while working with design teams involving multiple disciplines
  • Perform storm water analysis and design for site, roadway and municipal projects from conceptual to final design
  • Assists in the development of hydrologic and hydraulic reports for both rural and urban watersheds through the use of HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and/or SWMM-based models
  • Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, and drawings to plan and design projects
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
  • Performs other duties as required

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Engineer in Training certificate is required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus
  • Experience in using SWMM or HEC-RAS software is required
  • Experience with ArcGIS is required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

PSC Staffing Hiring for Payroll Clerk

PSC Staffing is currently hiring for a Payroll Clerk. This position is located on President’s Island. Must have a minimum of two years payroll clerk experience and must be able to work the first shift hours between 6 a.m. to finish.  Must have a flexible schedule that will allow you to work overtime and weekends if needed.

Responsibilities:

Manage compensation packages using payroll software
Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees
Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate
Manage and calculate taxes and deductions
Initiate periodical payments timely either by preparing and administering checks or making direct deposits through a bank payment system
Issues statements and invoices and maintain records
Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
Calculate unemployment and severance payments
Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor
Requirements
Proven experience as payroll clerk or payroll manager
Familiarity with general accounting principles
Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations
Exquisite math and numerical skills
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
Must be able to pass a drug screen
Must have a minimum of two years’ experience as a payroll clerk
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel (computer savvy )
Must be able to pass a pre-employment math test
Must have very strong math skills
Must be detail-oriented
Must be able to work on the President’s Island
Must have a detailed resume

Main Responsibilities

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

The Ideal Candidate

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch
    • Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
  • If previously employed, meaningful and verifiable work history

  • Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the State

  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
