Job Title: Stormwater Project Coordinator

Works under the direction of an Environmental Engineer to coordinate water pollution prevention projects to ensure that the City complies with local, state, and federal regulations and achieves pollution prevention goals.  Investigates complaints of storm water violations and prepares and presents written/verbal reports of findings.  Creates ad hoc reports as needed and develops and conducts a variety of limited duration, scientific studies as required such as Total Maximum Daily Load, etc.  Assists in performing environmental engineering analyses including examining topographical maps and drainage systems to accurately investigate pollutants and place monitoring equipment.  Assists in developing and reviewing engineering plans for the implementation of practices to minimize water pollution from sites.  Conducts field investigations to collect data used in determining sources of water pollutants; extracts water samples from storm drains and streams for laboratory tests and evaluates data to determine compliance and to access pollution problems; enters field data into computer and produces various reports.  Inspects industrial and municipal storm drainage systems and outflow areas to ensure conformance with government regulations and permit requirements. Inspects pollution control equipment for conformance with regulations and operates various types of water monitoring equipment.  Prepares and submits reports of daily activities.  Educates the public on water quality issues including giving presentations to and training community groups, facility workers, and school groups.  Researches and applies for grants/partnerships to increase the effectiveness of the storm water program.

Works under the general supervision of the assigned division to provide advanced customer service, administrative support, and data maintenance duties.  Serves as Division liaison to all internal and external customers including: greeting and directing visitors, answering and screening telephone calls, and directing callers to appropriate individuals.  Assist City employees, citizens, and external agencies with information of services provided by the Division.  Provides information and assists in researching and responding to customers’ requests from various organizations or individuals regarding services.  Monitors, manages, and documents service request/complaints emanated from the 3-1-1 Call Center if assigned.  Coordinates, schedules, confirms, and maintains the Division calendar for appointments, meetings, conferences, and events.  Performs functions such as coordinating employee parking assignment by creating and issuing parking decals/hang tags and perform occasional parking garage audits.  Prepares, logs, distributes, and processes various documentation such as but not limited to check requisitions, accounts payable check request, bids and contracts and legal notices. Prepares and submits timesheets as assigned. Monitors and updates the manager on status of various projects and procedures.  May represent the division at various meetings and communicate specific information as instructed by the manager if assigned.  Compiles, prepares, and distributes meeting minutes.  Edits, and/or prepares written correspondence and reports, researches and compiles data for reports.  Prepares and creates presentations, spreadsheets and charts by using various Microsoft applications.   Maintains various records, files, databases.

Job Title: Parks & Neighborhoods Deputy Director

Works under the general direction of the Director of Parks & Neighborhoods to manage, plan, evaluate the direct services and public programs components of the Division including golf, tennis, aquatics, athletics, stadium, youth and family, and senior programs. Oversees the delivery of services through the City-owned community centers, senior centers, museums, and golf courses.  Serves as liaison to nonprofit partners managing City-owned assets under the Parks & Neighborhoods jurisdiction.  Attends board meetings, manages multi-year agreements, and oversees City support of the partnerships. Works with subordinates and Division management staff to develop, review and prepare annual budget for the assigned service centers.  Reviews and/or prepares reports and monitors adherence to adopted budget for the Division service centers. Develops short- and long-range plans for direct services that are responsive to community needs. Develops and implements standards of customer service and operational excellence. Supervises grant and resource development activities undertaken by the Division, including review of grant applications and reports. Manages special projects and initiatives that advance the mission and goals of the Parks & Neighborhoods Division. Attends meetings and conducts site visits throughout the City.  Ensures the Divisions’ operations are in compliance with City policy and procedures.  Develops, implements, and evaluates performance and operating goals.  Manages all aspects of Human Resources, Risk Management, OJI, Payroll, Contract Compliance, Performance Evaluations, and Safety for the Division.  Responsible for compliance of all rules, laws, regulations, and licensing or reporting requirements from any legal and authorized agency outside the City.
