What Do I Learn In The Program?

Students learn the fundamentals of welding which includes:

  • Safety
  • Oxy-fuel cutting
  • Plasma arc cutting
  • Air carbon arc cutting and gouging
  • Base metal preparation
  • Weld quality
  • SMAW equipment and setup
  • SMAW electrodes
  • Beads and fillet welds
  • Joint fit-up and alignment
  • Groove welds with backing
  • Open V groove welds
