Job Title: Computer Software Specialist 3

Duties: Apply advanced-level business and information technology system practices and/or project management methodology in analyzing information requirements to determine hardware/ software solutions; develop project plans; and implement, develop or maintain enterprise information systems to meet project deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business with a concentration in Information Systems or Math with a concentration in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses.  Must have at six (6) years of experience and meet proficiency requirements.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence. Must have at least one (1) year of demonstrated experience as the primary support person for a particular system or application and demonstrated  knowledge and skills in one (1) or more of the fields listed below.   Banner, Oracle Developer, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Linux, SQL, PL/SQL, Pro C, Java, MAVEN, SOAP.

Works inside under good conditions.  Subject to sitting for long periods of time at computer terminals, eye fatigue, grasping/ reaching for technical manuals/printouts and distinguishing color, and occasional light lifting,  bending, stooping/crouching to load computer equipment, paper and carry materials.

If there are no qualified bidders for Computer Software Specialist 3, bidders will be considered for Computer Software Specialists 2.  If there are no qualified bidders for Computer Software Specialist 2, bidders will be considered for Computer Software Specialist 1.

Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

Duties: Fabricate, install and repair sheet metal products.

Must have completed approved Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training.  Must have a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03A “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises.

Works in shop majority of the time.  Subject to welding, burns, falls, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, grasping, heavy lifting, standing/walking for long periods of time and hazards associated with cutting and bending machinery.

Job Title: Payroll Services Representative 1

Duties: Perform entry-level work to update/control payroll and time reporting systems; compile, review, correct/reconcile and control data for various payroll accounts in order to meet payroll processing requirements, government requirements for reporting gross/tax data, and requirements for issuing/reporting W-2’s; distribute/report annual W-2’s.

High School Diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.), plus 6 semester hours in accounting principles.  Must pass Data Entry Exercises, Group C.  Must successfully complete Customer Contact test.  Must have experience in computer software applications such as Word and Excel with Windows.  Experience in payroll processing and working with a payroll system and applicable knowledge or experience in payroll software applications preferred.  Must have experience in tabulating and balancing data.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Job Title: Community Relations Coordinator 2 (part-time)

Duties: Apply intermediate-level business knowledge and techniques to assist in developing and implementing various programs to better serve MLGW customers; coordinate departmental work with other Division departments, social/community, and governmental agencies; customers and other external entities in order to achieve overall departmental objectives.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Services, Communications, or Journalism plus 2-4 years of professional-level experience in social/human services or related field. Must have a thorough knowledge of governmental low-income programs. Must have proficient skills in applicable computer software applications.  Must have a have a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.

Works inside the majority of the time. Subject to hazards associated with conducting field interviews, investigations, observations and presentations.

Job Title: Electronics Instrument Technician

Duties: Maintain, test and repair various electrical/electronic testing equipment; perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, optical, chemical and physical testing; design/fabricate test equipment for research and development.

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering Technology or four (4) years experience in the installation, maintenance, testing and repairing of various electrical and electronic test equipment.  Must successfully complete Color Blind I Test.  Must have a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 004 “Electronics Technicians”)/ Performance Exercises.

Works in shop majority of time under good conditions.  Subject to hazards of medium lifting, high voltage testing, chemicals, climbing ladders, working in uncomfortable positions and standing for extended periods.  Occasionally works in the proximity of electrical equipment in substations and walk-in/underground vaults.

Job Title: Supervisor, Internal Audit

Duties:  Train, direct and supervise employees conducting administrative, financial and operational audits; review audit findings and determine feasibility and/or effectiveness of recommendations and implement; conduct follow up sessions; perform special projects including those relating to computer hardware/software systems; and ensure MLGW compliance to federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards using the Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) Standards.

Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting, Computer Science or Information Systems with a minor in Accounting. Must successfully complete Supervisor Assessment Center. Must have 2 to 4 years internal auditing experience in a utility setting or must complete the Internal Audit Supervisory Development Program with a minimum of 2 years internal auditing experience. Must have a professional accreditation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or certification recognized by the Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA). Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one (1) year of entering the job. Must have a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.

Works in office majority of time under good conditions. Subject to field audits.

Job Title: Energy Technician

Duties: Inspect new/existing residential structures and make recommendations to residential customers, home builders, property owners/managers concerning methods, techniques or technologies to conserve energy; perform inspections of residential and multi-family rental units in order to insure compliance with the Rental Ordinance Section of the Memphis Housing Code; and investigate high electric, gas and/or water bill complaints.

Associate degree.  Must have two years of construction or residential energy management experience.  Must receive Home Energy Rating System (HERS) certification within 6 months of first taking the exam.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside and outside under good conditions.  May be subject to construction hazards.  Climbing, crawling, crouching and kneeling required. Subject to medium lifting.

Duties:  Apply engineering principles to power and substation structural design and perform other related engineering functions. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering depending on expertise required. Experience will vary according to departmental needs. Must successfully complete NIMS training within one (1) year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works in office majority of time; subject to construction hazards while making field inspections.

Job Title: Lead, Water Quality Control Analyst

Duties:  Train, direct, perform and assign work to laboratory employees engaged in chemical, bacteriological, microbiology and other tests on drinking water; and perform instrumental analyses of drinking water to ensure compliance with federal, state and local agencies rules, regulations and standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from an accredited American Chemical Society university or college with 5 years of experience as a Water Quality Control Analyst.  Must be certified annually in chemical and microbiological analyses to comply with Section 1401 of the Safe Drinking Water Act, Public Law 93-523.  Must have a Grade IV Water Treatment Operator’s License from the State of Tennessee Board of Water and Waste Water certification and completed Hazardous Waste Materials Training (29 CFR 1910.120) and successfully completed NIMS Training within one year of entering job.  Must pass the Color Blind 1 test.  Must have skills in computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works majority of time inside under good conditions.  Subject to hazards of working with chemicals, standing/walking for long periods of time, and medium lifting of supplies/equipment.
