We are actively recruiting for the following positions:

  • Warehouse Associates – these positions are responsible for receiving, loading, and/or organizing freight.
  • Shipping Specialists – this position will ensure that all packages are shipped out in a timely manner.

All Candidates must have good communication, organization and memorization skills.  Must be able to use pallet jacks, forklifts, and other machinery (i.e. compactors, balers, etc.).  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on your feet for long periods of time.  Previous forklift experience/certification is a plus.

  • Data Entry Specialists – this position will ensure that all packages are properly identified, categorized and keyed into the system.

The Data Entry Specialist position will require great computer skills, must be able to type 35 wpm, must have excellent spelling and grammar, attention to detail and be able to work in a warehouse environment.

Our starting pay is $10.50 per hour. Full Time Employees are offered benefits that include: (some benefits began first day of employment and others will be after 90 days of employment).

Water Resources Staff Engineer – BWSC, Inc.

Water Resources Staff Engineer

 

BWSC is currently seeking to fill the position of Staff Engineer in the Environment & Water Resources business unit in Memphis, TN.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supporting senior engineering staff in the preparation of stormwater and flood reduction projects
  • Assist in developing final design plans
  • Complete assignments within budget and schedule while working with design teams involving multiple disciplines
  • Perform storm water analysis and design for site, roadway and municipal projects from conceptual to final design
  • Assists in the development of hydrologic and hydraulic reports for both rural and urban watersheds through the use of HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and/or SWMM-based models
  • Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, and drawings to plan and design projects
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
  • Performs other duties as required

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Engineer in Training certificate is required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus
  • Experience in using SWMM or HEC-RAS software is required
  • Experience with ArcGIS is required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Description of position:
Logistics account managers broker freight for manufacturers and distributors by matching carriers to move the freight to its destination in the required timeframe. They are the link between the customer and the carriers and oversee the entire process to ensure the freight is successfully delivered. They seek out new customers, make sales calls, build relationships with carriers, and continually research the logistical climate. Knowledge and learning the types of transportation and loading equipment needed for different types of freight is essential. Negotiating with customers and carriers is a core activity. Must be able to manage email and phone contacts to meet customer and carrier expectations and manage issues as they occur.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

Computer skills are essential. Multi-tasking and organizational skills are a requirement. Attention to detail should be second nature. Being a team player is of utmost importance. A logical mind that enjoys solving problems and puzzles is needed. This position is not for the timid. One (1) or more years of experience in the logistics/transportation industry is preferred but not required. A training wage is offered weekly or 100% commission whichever is greater.

FedEx Plans to Hire 1,000 People this Weekend for Permanent Part-Time Jobs

The Memphis Business Journal reports that FedEx Express will have a job fair on Saturday, April 1, from 8:30am-3:00pm at “2874 Business Park Drive at Building D.

Hourly rates start at $12.62, and there is a minimum of 17.5 hours per week guaranteed. Benefits include medical coverage, with premiums starting at $5 a month, as well as vision and dental benefits and tuition assistance.”

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • “[A]ble to lift 75 pounds
  • 10-year work history, which can include time as a student” that applicants should bring with them
  • A “10-year residency history”
  • Valid driver’s license
