National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a National Celebration that offers leaders in business, labor, education, and other critical partners a chance to express their support for Apprenticeship. NAW also gives apprenticeship sponsors the opportunity to showcase their programs, facilities and apprentices in their community. The weekly events highlight the benefits of Apprenticeship in preparing a highly-skilled workforce to meet the talent needs of employers across diverse industries.

Founded in 1963, Jackson Glass Co. Inc. is the oldest local Residential & Commercial Glass Company in the Memphis TN area.  We are growing and looking for new members to join our team!

Glazier Needed:

Experienced Glazier with valid Driver’s License and dependable transportation. Must be able to read measuring tape accurately and have Residential Glazing and glass installation experience including but not limited to the following: Mirrors, Framed & Frameless Shower Doors, Insulated Glass Units, Glass Cutting.  Commercial/Storefront experience is a big plus!

Glaziers Apprentice Needed:

Must have valid Driver’s License and dependable transportation.  Ideal applicants will have strong ability to accurately measure, experience in construction/building trades and willingness to learn a specialized trade.

Certified Apprenticeship Programs do not require that an Apprentice have out-of-pocket tuition cost so tuition reimbursement will not be applicable.

Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship Opportunities

Time:                8:30-9:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month.  Interviews will be scheduled and conducted as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for an interview for apprenticeship:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED
  3. Submit a completed, signed SimplexGrinnell application
  4. Have a valid driver’s license and a dependable means of transportation to the employer’s place of business and/or jobsite, and to the place where classroom job related instruction is conducted.
  5. Be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.
  6. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in written format

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Applicants selected for hire will be required to submit to the following, all as condition of and prior to being employed.

  1. Human Performance Evaluation
  2. Screening for use of illegal drugs
  3. Background check
