AmeriCorps Openings @ Exchange Club’s Project TLC


 Project TLC (To Love a Child), hosted by the Exchange Club Family Center in Memphis, was the first program of its kind in West Tennessee to take a direct stand against child abuse and directly focuses on the issue area and nationality of Human Needs: children and youth. Ameri-Corps Project TLC’s service activities are de-signed to meet the various needs of “at risk” and abusive parents by teaching them positive parenting skills through parenting education courses, providing on-site and home-based training to families, and advocating for abused children’s best interests in court custody and visitation decisions. AmeriCorps members provide emotional support and essentially serve as role models to their clients.

  2. Send email to project.tlc@hotmail.com when application is completed to request a reference form for a third reference.
  3. Submit a copy of your birth certificate, driver’s license, social security card and proof of insurance.  (Note: We will need to view the originals of the above documents at some point during the orientation process).
  4. Official High School and College Transcripts are required.  Please request them to be sent to:

  • 19 years of age or older
  • Minimum 2 years of College Preferred (Social Sciences Bachelors Degree Preferred)
  • Able to pass a background check

  • Click Search
  • Select  Project TLC by the (*) to apply for  a either a part-time or full-time position
  • Click Apply Now
  • Certify that everything is correct
  • Click Submit

AmeriCorps Project TLC is offering full-time & half-time, one year positions in Memphis beginning August 2013.

You will earn an educational award to help pay for college, graduate school, vocational/technical training, or to pay off student loans.

  • Full-time -1,725 hours minimum ($5,550) plus a modest living stipend, insurance and child care (if eligible)
  •  Half-time – 925 hours minimum ($2,775)

Contract Family Services Provider Opening @ Exchange Club Family Center

The Exchange Club Family Center is currently hiring contract family service providers for families referred to us from the TN Dept. of Children’s Services. A masters degree in Social Work or Counseling is required.

  • Preferably a Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • At least one year relevant professional experience working with families and children.

  • Conduct weekly in-home therapy sessions with clients as authorized.
  • Provide community resources that fit the client’s needs.
  • Update clinical supervisor and DCS case manager weekly on client progress.
  • Attend group supervisions and training sessions.
  • Complete 12 hours of pre-approved training each year
  • Complete required paperwork and assessments.
About The Program
The In-Home Family Services Program is a short term, highly intensive, home based program designed to protect, treat, and support families, including those who have at least one child in placement in DCS custody. Family Services Providers offer a wide range of flexible and responsive services tailored to the individual child and family. The FSP assists the family in developing an information support system to ensure long term stability.
