 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Function as an Academic Instructor in a classroom setting, providing instruction in skills necessary to master academic competencies.  Provides engaging instruction, administers tests and evaluates progress in reading, writing, social studies, science and mathematics understanding and proficiency.  Identify and use appropriate materials for the students being taught and the department goals established.  Please note other duties may include, but are not limited to, mentoring, student recruitment and placement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor Degree and certified to teach in state in which center is located.

 

LICENSES OR  CERTIFICATES:         A State Teacher Certificate is required in the State where the Job Corps Center is located.

A valid Regular Driver License is required.

 NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:  Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; OFF – Saturday & Sunday.

Bachelor’s degree in Education required. Concentration in Secondary or Adult Education preferred. Advanced degree highly desirable with two years teaching experience at the secondary level desired. Experience with at risk or culturally deprived youth highly preferred.

 Perform as an instructor in the Career Technical Training class setting, providing instruction and training to students in the Carpentry field. Promote a positive and desirable atmosphere which facilitates optimal student progress. Please note other duties may include, but are not limited to, mentoring, student recruitment and placement.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate from an accredited college, university (Bachelors Degree) or vocational school preferred. Must possess or be eligible to obtain certificate, license or other legal credentials required by state law, regulation or contract. Two years of experience in the trade and/or vocational area of instruction. Experience with at risk or culturally deprived youth highly preferred.

 

LICENSES OR   CERTIFICATES:      State Teacher’s Certification required. A valid Regular Driver License is required.

 NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:  On-call, as needed.
