Job Title: Part-Time Coin Room Clerk

Hourly Wage: $10.00 (15 hrs. per week minimum, work shift may vary)

DEFINITION:

Assists in the collection, processing, shipping, and security of all fare box revenues and the operation, cleaning and maintenance for all associated equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Count fare box revenues manually and using jet sort coin machine and jet scan currency machine. Prepare for the transportation of revenues to the bank.
  •  Exchange fare box vaults and deposit revenue into receiver units utilizing a forklift.
  •  Provide security for the Coin Room and fare collection equipment.
  •  Operate revenue collection equipment, including probes and fare boxes.
  •  Assist with inventory of revenue and service vehicles.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School diploma or GED required.

 

Other:

Must be able to operate a forklift. Must possess basic math skills and be able to use a calculator. Must be bondable and be able to pass a background security check. Requires ability to handle numerous activities at one time. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Environment:

Extensive standing and walking are required in the course of a normal day. May be required to lift and carry 50 lbs; overhead lifting and reaching. Requires the ability to withstand exposure to weather conditions, dust, engine fumes, toxic chemicals and extreme noise levels. Must be able to climb in and out of buses in order to insert and remove the boxes in the fare box in 30 seconds. Perform general cleaning duties at the MATA facility to buildings, grounds, and equipment subject to inspection utilizing automatic and manual cleaning equipment.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Perform general cleaning duties at the MATA facility to buildings, grounds, and equipment subject to inspection utilizing automatic and manual cleaning equipment.
  • Service and clean all equipment.
  • Steam cleans engines and other mechanical parts on vehicles.
  • Clean sewer lines and bathrooms.
  • Patch roof and parking lot.

Other Job Functions:

  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
  • Distribute sand in inclement weather by driving a MATA sand truck.

Job Information:

Perform basic skilled and semi-skilled woodworking repairs to railcars and equipment at Trolley.

 

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates a variety of woodworking machines to surface, cut, and shape wood, plastics and other wood products to fabricate parts for Trolleys.
  • Prepare and install wood products, such as doors, doorframes and window frames according to specifications and fabrication requirements on Trolleys.

Qualifications

Must have experience with operating paint gun equipment to paint surfaces of transportation equipment. Must have experience in sharpening and maintaining machine-cutting heads, using hand tools and grinder. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Mental Effort – Must be able to read and understand maintenance manuals; prepare work cards and orders for repairs; read and analyze diagrams and blueprints.

Physical – Extensive walking and standing for at least 90% of the time; lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. and lifting parts and materials overhead. Requires the ability to withstand exposure to negative surroundings such as uncomfortable weather conditions, dust, engine fumes, toxic chemicals, from and extreme noise levels. Job Information:

Perform contract solicitation, award and administration activities, as required by MATA’s procurement process, and in accordance with Federal, State, and Local procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  1. Oversee contract administration for all formal procurements from the beginning of project until the project is completed. Prepare solicitation documents for procurements.

 

  1. Record pre-bid/proposal conferences including site visits, oral presentations, and Evaluation Committee meetings, and prepare minutes of them.  Oversee bid openings including documentation of those present, and prepare bid analyses.

 

  1. Prepare board resolution for procurements along with memorandum and procurement summary.

 

  1. Prepare contracts for furnishing supplies and services that have been awarded by MATA Board.  Prepare letters to all successful and unsuccessful bidders/proposers.  Return bonds to unsuccessful bidders/proposers.

 

  1. Maintain and secure contract files.  Ensure that contractors and their subcontractors perform in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications of their contract/subcontract.  Review, audit and process invoices from the contractor.

 

  1. Review and audit payroll records submitted by contractors/subcontractors.  Prepare and process change orders, and request Buy America waivers from FTA, when necessary.  Assist Contracting Officer in preparation and submission of any claims/disputes, cure notices or termination notices.  Upon completion of the project, obtain all closeout documents from the contractor.

           

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist Manager of Purchasing and Stores, Contracting Officer and User Department, as required.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related area.  Overall experience may be considered in lieu of advanced education.

DEFINITION:

 Responsible for field operations and the supervision of road supervisors and radio dispatchers.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the efficient operation of transit vehicles involved in the transport of passengers, maintaining a safe and reliable transportation system.  Oversight, from time-to-time may include rail operations.
  2. Supervise and provide guidance to road supervisors and radio supervisors in the execution of their responsibilities while maintaining service level.
  3. Assist with conducting training for supervisors and operators, including new hires. 
  4. Responsible for making recommendations for changes to operating manuals including the supervisor’s manual, Code of Discipline, and other guides utilized in daily operations.
  5. Must be knowledgeable and able to apply all provisions of the labor agreement.
  6. Operate and communicate two-way radio system as regulated by the FCC. Notifies central dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, or passenger incidents. Investigate accidents and operator/passenger disputes.
  7. Responsible for supervising operations at shuttle locations during special events.
  8. Assists in the alignment of bus stops and transit operations.
  9. Complete and submit reports in a timely manner.
  10. Operate and communicate with bus operators, radio room, and dispatch, using all aspects of the ITS system.  The Chief of Streets should have expert knowledge of the OrbCAD system and be able to dispatch from the supervisor’s vehicle. Incident and accident reporting should be performed from the vehicle.
