  • Proper classroom and on the job safety requirements including:  first aid procedures for cuts and burns; correct procedures for handling tools of the trade.
  • Works directly with academic instructors in coordinating curriculum development.
  • Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learning.
  • Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
  •  Works directly with the academic instructors in coordinating curriculum development.
  • Utilizes all possible curricular resources available at the Center.
  • Prepares adequately for classroom activities.
  • Maintains student personal folders, recording performance data including test scores, evaluations, attendance, incident reports, achievement awards, and other pertinent information concerning students.
  • Certifies student’s completion status on the TAR.
  • Ensures that students utilize any special clothing and personal protective equipment needed in the materials handler/warehousing program.
  • Studies and demonstrates through performance a working knowledge of student activity guides, TARs and safety standards.
  • Maintains up-to-date records (attendance forms, TARs, etc.) on each student enrolled in the course.
  • Prepares reports as required, such as student/staff hours, requisitions and student evaluations.
  • Records and forwards daily attendance to designated personnel in a timely manner.
  • Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.

Phlebotomy/EKG Technician Instructor (Clinical Medical)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Perform as an instructor in the Career Technical Training class setting, presenting instruction in the profession of clinical laboratory testing.  Promote a positive atmosphere within the classroom setting conducive to optimal training, learning, and motivation. Please note other duties may include, but are not limited to, mentoring, student recruitment and placement.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate Degree in Medical Technology, the successful completion of an approved program of teacher preparation in Vocational Education and the equivalent of two years of trade experience, and three years of recent trace experience leading to a broad base of knowledge and skills in clinical/medical technology.  Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology preferred.  Three years of clinical teaching experience preferred.

LICENSES OR  CERTIFICATES:

State Certification as a Medical Technologist/Technician.

A valid Regular Driver License is required.

 

 NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:       Monday – Friday; 7:30 am – 4:30 pm

                                                            Saturday and Sunday; OFF

Function as an Academic Instructor in a classroom setting, providing instruction in skills necessary to master academic competencies. Provides instruction, administers tests and evaluates progress in reading, writing, social studies, science and mathematics understanding and proficiency. Provide remedial materials and instruction when required. Please note other duties may include, but are not limited to, mentoring, student recruitment and placement.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Education required. Concentration in Secondary or Adult Education preferred. Advanced degree highly desirable with two years teaching experience at the secondary level desired. Experience with at risk or culturally deprived youth highly preferred.

 

LICENSES OR  

   CERTIFICATES:      State Teacher’s Certification required.

 

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:  Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; OFF – Saturday & Sunday.
