Job Title & Description Position: UrbanArt Commission – Program Manager (full time)

UrbanArt Commission (UAC) is excited to add a new Program Manager to the team with a focus on curatorial, temporary and event-based public projects. This position will work closely with the Executive Director and Program Management team to engage stakeholders and support artists through the development of public art and programming. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Moveable Collection, approximately ten temporary public art projects and events annually (such as the recent UAC Block Party), and new programs that will activate existing UAC project sites. Through the Moveable Collection, artworks by Memphis-based artists will be purchased and displayed in city facilities around Memphis. This portfolio of work aims to stimulate broader interest in public art across the city and to and provide greater opportunities for Memphis-based artists to participate in public art.

Finally, this position will be responsible for collaborating with the UAC team to implement a new strategic plan and helping to deliver the mission of UAC to connect artists and neighborhoods to shape spaces.

Reports to: Executive Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the City of Memphis’ Moveable Collection, including existing inventory, acquiring new work, and accompanying programming

Develop and manage large and small scale temporary projects for UAC events, projects and partners

Coordinate with key partners in the planning and execution of programs and events

Manage revenue and expenses for programs based on the organization or project budget

Recruit and manage volunteers and interns to assist in program implementation, as needed

Organize, implement, and promote programs and events in keeping with the strategic plan of UAC

Contribute social media and communications content related to portfolio, as needed

Assist in managing aspects of specific public art/design enhancement projects and budgets, as assigned, including project planning, monitoring fabrication and installation of artworks, and maintenance coordination

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Overall qualifications required include proven ability to work with a diverse range of people, personas and public interest.

Fine art or curatorial experience strongly preferred

Detail oriented, highly motivated and organized

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

Able to work nights and weekends, as needed, for events

Interest in a lively, creative work culture

Dedication to UAC’s mission and goals

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in arts management, art history, design, or a closely related field. 2-5 years previous project management experience required, specifically coordinating multiple stakeholders and adhering to a timeline. Professional background in public art, design and contemporary art issues a significant plus.

Job Title & Description Program Overview

Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems.  Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings.  We have three different types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes.  Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed).

Position Overview

The Behavioral Youth Counselor, also known as a Teacher Counselor:

Teaches the children necessary life skills and provide for their physical daily care.
Assists in treatment planning for boys age 7-18.
Conducts daily documentation such as contact notes, milieu notes, and precautionary notes.
Participates in client transports to various locations
Participates in recreation therapy with children.
Improves children’s behavior through coping skills and other therapeutic interventions.
Conducts group and 1 on 1 counseling sessions
Additional Information

The TC (Teacher Counselor) schedule runs either Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat
Three weekdays: (M-W or W-F) 2:00pm-10:30pm
One weekend day: 6:30am-10:30pm

Some TCs spend the night once or twice a week on the campus and have additional responsibility for waking the residents and directing them with their morning routine.  This schedule also provides counselors with a three day weekend. (Please note: Counselors do not live on the campuses and are responsible for securing their own residencies.)  Each campus differs on their schedule structure and rotations and can be discussed further with a specific hiring manager.

The supervision and treatment of youth requires prolonged periods of walking and standing and physical agility. May be required to run and climb flights of stairs. Must be able to participate in physical interventions with youth when necessary. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Will be required to complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR training.
Applicants are required to pass an agility and strength evaluation.
Applicants must have valid driver license.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Team BRIDGES is a dynamic, high energy work environment that requires flexibility, great communication skills, and tight-knit working relationships.  The Facilitation Specialist’s primary responsibilities are managing clients, creating and facilitating customized agendas and curriculums, and leading participants through low and high challenge course elements.

Full Time, Regular, Exempt

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Lead and facilitate adventure-based, experiential programs and curriculums.
  2. Create individualized curriculums and agendas to meet the specific goals of clients and organizations.
  3. Manage a client throughout the entire process including all paperwork (invoices, work agreements, waivers, surveys, etc.), leading meetings, quoting prices, arranging catering, creating agendas, and serving as the lead facilitator during the event.
  4. Balance and maximize work hours to manage several clients, while also assisting in other Team BRIDGES events.
  5. Work with diverse client groups including corporate, non-profit, faith-based groups, schools, adults and youth.
  6. Ensure effective communication and rapport amongst staff and clients by promptly responding to emails and voicemails, and keeping calendars and data spreadsheets up to date.
  7. Assist in the maintenance of Team BRIDGES’ gear and supplies for the AutoZone High Adventure Challenge Course, The Grizzlies Climbing Wall and ground level initiatives.
  8. Make sure that all program materials, handouts, agendas, etc. are prepared for staff and are available for all meetings, events, trainings, etc.
  9. Assist in maintaining an aesthetically pleasing work environment for staff and clients.
  10. Facilitation of low elements, rock wall and high ropes course activities, on and off-site.
  11. Occasionally work outside in the elements throughout the year.
  12. Demonstrate consistent proficiency of technical skills with participants and staff on the high ropes course, rock wall, and low elements.
  13. Participate in continuing education of facilitation skills and challenge course certifications.
  14. Ensure with Challenge Course Manager that risk management procedures are implemented and followed.
  15. Must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and/or over-night as required.
  16. Reliable transportation as facilitation often takes place off-site.
  17. Represent Team BRIDGES at events, conferences, meetings, public forums etc.; often requires speaking in front of large groups.
  18. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Team BRIDGES’ Director and Challenge Course Manager.
